Going to Fenway Park with my Dad in 1957 or so, the year after Don Larson pitched a no hitter in the world series. I got to see, and meet, Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, Hank Bauer, Ted Williams, Jackie Jensen, etc.

This is cheesy but everyday is special to me b/c I am alive and it's another day to be with my kids!

But if I must pinpoint one day other than the day the boys were born I would have to say in 1987. Our h.s. band marched the 1/2 time show between the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. We revealed the world's largest flag. I still have the newspaper clipping w/ the picture. It was cool!

Our marching band won alot of competitions so UW-Madison choose our band to march the 1/2 time show. :) Had alot of great memories being in h.s. and in the band.

Another special time was when we went to the training camp for the Chicago Bears (which is only 15 miles from where I grew up) I got alot of autographs but the most special one is Walter Paytons.

I was also in a drum and bugle corp in New Hampshire, and the best D&B Corp in the country was the Madison Scouts from Madison, Wisconsin.

The day that C6 and I were wed. We were HS sweethearts who lost each other, and reunited 27 years later. Sharing our words of commitment is something I'll always treasure.

The day the Boston Red Sox won the World Series in 2004! I thought of my late father, uncles, aunts that never got to experience the thrill. My brother put a little Red Sox banner on dads grave...
For those that don't know ..growing up in New England the Red Sox would run away with the division until...September when the "hated" Yankees would snatch it away. I spent many summers with my dad listening the games on the ....get this...AM radio hoping for the day the Red Sox would pull it out!

When the Red Sox won the world series in 1918 my Dad was 3 years old. We watched the 2004 series together. He passed away 4 months later. At least he got to see the Sox win it all.

Okay, I have a couple of cheesy special days. Some of my most memorable are the adoption days while standing before a judge in Russia. The relief that the children were finally ours was an emotion I can't explain. NOw, for the "cheesy" stuff I remember...

I got to march in the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Dublin, Ireland when I was in high school. It was awesome!

I got to take a trip to Czechloslovakia when I was in high school. We met up w/ some locals who spoke english and were talking to them. The conversation got intense and then we started talking politics. Out of the blue, one of them said "I envy your freedom." My friends and I were shell shocked and just stood there not knowing what to say. Something so profound, what do you say? Remember, this was before the wall went down. The whole thing opened our eyes to what we take for granted in America. All these teens like us wanted to do was to travel around and they couldn't. We went back w/ a new sense of who we were in life. The whole thing took place on the steps of a beautiful cathedral lit up by the moonlight. A scene I'll never forget.

Another special moment was also in high school. It was on a ski trip and I was horribly injured in the alps. I know this sounds terrible being medivacked off a mountain and stuff but it wasn't. It was then I realized just want great friends I was blessed w/ in life. The ones who stand by you in good and bad times.

My most memorable though was shopping down a little street w/ my husband antique shopping. It was on our honeymoon. It was then I realized I was going to spend the rest of my life w/ the man I truly love. Corny, but it was a very special day for me.

Nice thread that takes us all back in time. Can't wait to hear others. Some of you have some amazing moments!

    Have a Happy Easter Weekend!

    My special days

There are several, but I think the most meaningful day in terms of really changing my life is the day I was saved and committed my life to Jesus. This is because, it has changed the direction of my life, my marriage and prayerfully my children who are 2 and 4. I also pray that as a Christian, I can bring others to the faith - since I have been saved, my 69 year old dad and 55 year old step father were saved as well. Not that I had anything to do with it, the glory goes to God as far as I am concerned. I thank C3 and their wonderful leadership for steering me in this direction - it's nice to actually approach life with a purpose!

Not trying to top you (or as you might look at it "bottom you"); the day I was able to say that I don't believe in the supernatural publicly without fear was a day that lifted my heart and actually improved my family situation.

I've had several that are very memorable, such as my wedding day, graduations, my first sporty car. NONE supplant the birth of my son. When my son came out into the world, I was standing at the head of the bed beside my wife and when the doctor raised him up, his eyes were open and enormous looking. Nothing more beautiful or memorable than that.

  19. For me its kind of a toss up:

The past four years i have volunteered for the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure.Been working at the water stop giving handing out water to the runner. Those have been pretty special days in my life.

Another is when I finally got my AA degree a few years ago at JCC, It wasn't that I finally got my degree that made it special but the people who came to see me graduate is what made it a special day for me.

Also January 5 2008 was a special day for me. Thats when I got to bring home my new dog Laila.
