OMG I live about 10 mins from there , I have some words for people like that ..I just cant say them here ! Jerks ..Thank goodness the nice man who stopped was not hurt any worse !! I hope they catch who did it
It is sooo sad. I have wanted to stop numerous times lately and know I can't stop. It really makes me sad that I cant help a fellow person.
:iagree: I did stop and just cracked my window to ask an elderly man if he needed me to call someone for him. He had a cell phone, which brings up a valid point. Almost everyone has one these days so I don't feel quite as bad about not stopping.
:iagree: but sometimes their phone might be dead or can't get a signal, especially out here in some locations!
I've passed stranded motorists and dialed *HP and told them the motorist's location before, without ever stopping. In this day and age I'm afraid it's too darn dangerous to stop, especially if the kids are with me.
I cant count the amount of times I have stopped to help and never had a problem. Alot of people have forgotten their cell, dont have one, etc. This is just a case of one bad apple trying to spoil the whole bunch. I wouldnt suggest my wife stop to help, but being a guy I feel OK doing it. I have noticed that guys will trip over themselves when its a damsel in distress, especially if she's a cutie.
aww clif, why'd ya have to go and put that out there.....?????? you know us girls can't stop......... the Lord understands its too dangerous for us to do that, I agree w. R2CMK...... just call HP as you drive by if they look like they need help....
and really in this day and time, I don't want guys stopping to help me either.....it scares me.... My husband or son are coming, My girlfriends will send there husbands..... I'm not getting outta my car........doors locked.....
Clif, If I can really see that someone needs help (accident, flat tire, etc), I absolutely will and have, stop to help. DH has done it as well, but a car off the side of the road with just the hood up on a major hwy, nope, sorry. Not going to happen, especially if my kid is in the car. I would call HP so they can send someone to check on them, but I am not stopping myself, it's simply not safe for a female alone to do such a thing.
:? And I get killed/robbed/stabbed/raped in the process - no thanks. I'll explain it to the Lord when I see him.
You can't seriously suggest that a woman BY HERSELF should stop for some dude on the side of the road in 2008???? Seriously???
