Did you watch the Kansas-Memphis basketball game last night. If so, did you see your coach, Roy Williams, with a big Jayhawk sticker on his shirt. It was shown several times on national TV. He was interviewed at halftime and you could see part of the Jayhawk under his jacket. Roy Williams wearing a Jayhawk. What message did this send to his players back in Chapel Hill (who lost to Kansas two nights earlier) and to potential recruits?
LMAO! I seen that too....... hmmmm..........not a Carolina fan here! I loved Hansborough acceptance speech.......he acted and sounded like a robot!!
Well speaking of Carolina, yes that was weird Roy with the Jayhawk button on. I noticed at the ACC tourney when they showed the players getting off the bus, they were all dressed in random sweats suits etc, just looked sloppy. I mentioned it to my wife, as in the past they always had on suits getting off the bus. I noticed in the NCAA touney when thery were getting off the bus they all had on suits. I don't follow UNC enough to know if the non suits was typical, or if the alumni saw that too, and made a point that the players should be wearing suits when they get off the bus. I think they should were suits, or all the same sweats, not just random.
I had thought of that myself.... the team (UNC) had gone back to Chapel Hill and Roy stayed...I understand that he stayed b/c Tyler was receiving an award. I understand that he was there to support a prior team, but I do feel it may not have been the politcally correct thing to do.
Roy coached at Kansas for 14 years. How can he not have some type of affection for the team? He left on good terms....so what, he supported Kansas last night.
Let's see....he built the Kansas program back into a National Contender after taking it over when it was on probation, then spent 14 years there taking them to numerous NCAAs and Final Four...then after they left, he watched them in a championship game and rooted for them...since some of the players he had recruited to Kansas. Sounds like a classy move to me.`
:iagree: - seems like good sportsmanship, supporting the winning team, especially since he has a history with them. 8)
