So you want me to buy your crap Ken? :lol:

I'm not saying theres anything to the DREAMS but why would we remember our dreams IF they didn't mean anything? There HAS to be something to them.

As a matter of fact...

If you have been dreaming alot lately, I would recommend keeping a "dream journal" and documenting your dreams. As far as dream interpretation goes, there are five types of dreams. One of them is as Ken described, just your brain shuffling through events of the day or your current state. Those dreams are usually nonsensical. That is what Melynda had, what I call a Worry/Release Dream. In this dream you are able to get an unrestrained view of yourself, how you really feel about things, this is where worst case scenarios abound and insight and understanding come from.

The next one, what you had is a Problem Solving/Informational Dream. Like their name, these dreams might help you solve problems or understand situations by providing information to you. Sometimes it is something you already know, but it just brings it to the forefront to show you that it is important in your delaings. Other times, it could be something you were seeking - like say you are an inventor and are missing that one little piece to make that project work... Pay attention to colors (if in color), symbols, numbers, etc.

Next is the Wish Dream, this one is pretty simple. Dreams of what you want, or think you want. Some are literal, I remember having a dream in High School that my mom bought me a car. It was so real, the first thing I did when I woke up was look out the window for that car! Others are more confusing, as the dreamer might not realize the "prize" in the dream is actually representative of the idea - not the actual person or thing in the dream. Example - dreams of an old BFF who stabbed you in the back and stole your boyfriend and in your dream you are shopping together, having lunch, and getting pedicures. It's not really that particular friend you are hoping to reunite with, instead it is the closeness and friendship that you had prior to her backstabbing that you are seeking, and not with her, just with another human in general.

Next are Prophetic Dreams. Your cat dream could have been a prophetic dream. Prophetic dreams are always sequential and always in color, but not every sequential in color dream is a prophetic dream. Pay close attention to archetypes, numbers, dates, people, etc in these dreams as they are used to convey messages to you - though they are not always spelled out or specific enough to be of any real help. Unless you are Lincoln, but not much you can do when you dream of yourself in a casket.

The 5th one (and Ken, HUSH! lol), is Astral Travel. Have a visit with or a message from a deceased loved one that was just so real? It probably was. I will also include the symptoms of Astral Catalepsy (this is when your spirit is leaving or entering your body during as Astral Visit). Astral Travel does not always include Astral Catalepsy, it is basically when the conscious is startled awake and then privy to what the spirit is doing. Anyways, here are a few - paralysis, feeling pushed on or pinned down, loud noise like buzzing/humming/chiming, vibration, shortness of breath, lights.

I will also include Lucid Dreaming. Not necessarily a type of dream, but a way to gain more insight and personal growth from your dreams. Have you ever been dreaming, and then realized you were dreaming? The next step is being able to steer and control the dream. Lucid Dreaming is when your conscious and subconscious work together (it's like being conscious while dreaming). You might be able to interpret the dream while you are dreaming it, gaining valuable insights. You might confront and heal a personal problem in your dream, making it possible for you to do the same while awake. You can learn to be more objective and change your own response patterns before trying to change others. Lucid Dreaming is like a dress-rehearsal for Lucid Living.

    Cleo,

I dream all the time, very vivid, color dreams. I dreamed the other night that I was at some large wholesale car dealership in Garner, but then it turned into an old movie theater, anyway, someone stole my purse and we found the purse in the theater, but my wallet was gone, but they had dumped two other people's personal pics out of their wallets into my purse. I woke up in a panic that someone had all my personal info, ccards, etc. in my wallet.

    What does that mean?

I used to have a lot of Lucid dreams, which were mostly nightmares and I'd be able to wake myself up during the dream.

    Thanks Ms Cleo!

I didn't have any dreams last night or if I did I didn't remember them. I have a note pad by the bed now so I can just roll over and write down what I remember about my dreams. Then you can tell me what they mean!

    Oh this will be FUN!

Jeremy Tailor was the guest speaker at our church last Sunday and he has published works (I haven't read them yet) on Dreams from a "Rationalist" standpoint. This guy was one of the most impressive speakers I have ever heard, after a 30 minute sermon I wanted more, he cut it short just as he started getting into dreams.

Here is an excerpt from one of his web pages:

The following link provides a lot of Dream interpretation information.

Sorry, about all the Unitarian Universalist stuff!
