Is anyone else absolutely INFESTED with these darn sex-crazed bugs? I see them around occasionally these days, but for some reason, they are ALL OVER my house. I don't know if there's something near or under my house they're attracted to, or if it's just coincidence. I've been here 8 years, and I've never seen them as bad as they are right now. You have to keep your mouth shut walking from the house to the car or you'll end up with one in your mouth!

Yep, they're everywhere, but if they really eat mosquitoes, breed away! If I see one in my house, I'll usher it outside if I can instead of killing it!

From what I've read about them, they don't eat mosquitos, and they don't bite humans. They just breed and die and breed and die...

Bummer! Guess I'm gonna have to go google it... brb...

Wikipedia says you are correct! :) Harmless to humans and adult mosquitoes, but they may eat some mosquito larvae. That's still good enough for me I guess!

I have them everywhere also. Does anyone know how to get rid of them?

They are awful. I'm wondering why they are so bad this year. I've never seen anything like it before.

For what it's worth, they suddenly disappeared today. There's still a handful of them out there, but the number has gone WAY down from previous days. I don't know if they died, or left my house and went to your house, but I'm glad they've calmed down. My kids have been terrified to go outside.

Must have been breeding season. They probably bred, laid their eggs, and then died.

Now for the beetles... I took my dogs out and was pretty much dive bombed. They hit the walls so hard, my pooches were startled.

We've had tons of those crane flies too. I cut the grass the other night and swarms of them came up from the taller grass. They die and stick to the house. Time to get the pressure washer out.

Ok, I live off of Hwy 210 and I still have the crane flies. They ARE bad this year. I haven't seen the crunchy bugs yet - but I know they follow these guys. Anyone notice a lot of tree frogs and lizards this year too?

And ticks. Be careful folks, ticks are terrible this year already.

Well, I get them often this time of year too. I used to think they were mosquito hawks but I think they are something different. And, one year, I was bit by one of those things and it hurt terribly and made part of my had swell. :?

Thats because bug zappers have a really nasty habit of burning your house down :p Large bugs like a moth can burst into flames when caught in one. Had it happen and take out my ex-GF's deck.

Haven't I also heard that bug zappers kill more 'good' bugs than 'bad' bugs?
