Anyone know anything about Tara Plantation? (other than where it is, I know that much) Just curious if anyone on here knows anyone that lives in there, if it's a nice neighborhood, are there kids in there, that sort of thing?

It's a very small neighborhood, located in between Chadbourne and Creekside.

With really nice, large homes. We looked at home for sale when we bought our current home. I liked the neighborhood from what I saw.

Tara was always one of Garner's first real upscale development.

You could just throw your belongings from one house to another, eh DMJmom and skip the middle-moving-man!?!?

I'm afraid you'd have to reduce it by at least $300,000 for us to be able to afford it. :)

Sorry that it hasn't sold yet. I know you're looking for land in the Westview school district, but I saw this and thought of you... http://www.4042.com/4042classified/index.php
Just in case you get desperate enough for land out of that school district.

Thanks for the info. I think that's been for sale for a while, I've seen that before.

Did you just flip this house? The owner had it listed for $79K about a month ago.

I bought the house planning to move into it...I love the corner spot it is in and the great yard...but then the school district decided to present the new boundary lines :) So I have decided not to move in afterall....put some work into the house...and have decided to put it back on the market....

Curious as to what upgrades you did making it worth $21K more than what you purchased it for. Pictures seem to show not much change except for maybe laying some of the carpet the previous owner had already purchased but ran out of $ for installation. Good for you if you can make that much profit for the flip :)

I've looked in that neighborhood a couple of times. About the time my husband finally decided he was serious about the house on the cul-de-sac that was for sale a while back ... it was sold already. There's another house for sale in that neighborhood now that my hubby is interested in ... but they seem to be asking a little too much. When I first looked in the house it needed some definite cleaning, painting & repairs ... but someone told me that the house has been repainted recently and looks much better now. I've been meaning to go take another look sometime. In any case, I think it looks like a wonderful neighborhood. I know of a couple of families that live in there that have kids and they are WONDERFUL people. I've never heard anything but great comments about that neighborhood.

I've heard of them and met the owner before, but that's about it.
