:? and we wonder what's wrong with the up and coming generations...:banghead: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,350249,00.html Is that ALL there is in life theses days???? :banghead::banghead:
Won't this make for a "historical" bloodline for this poor child. I realize that in gang life, the members are "so-called" family from what I've been told. And I do not condone it at all. But COME ON!!! I think it's time for a BIG CHANGE....Maybe we have members that read here. Guys, guys guys.....and gals. Come on now. Why?
Right after you make it a crime to be a member of a gang. Thanks to a little piece of paper called the Constitution, there are currently no laws saying who you are allowed to associate with.
I wouldn't go that far, but I would sure like it if they could have rules on the "activities" these people who "hang out" do. Face it, a group of golfing buddies on a golf course, a women's church meeting, girl's night out and various group "hang outs" if you will DOUBTFULLY have any type of "agenda" a street gang does. It really needs to be dealt with. Why can't these gangs doe something constructive and GOOD for the community instead of instilling fear? I wouldn't mind giving the gov't the power to enforce that.
They do. No killing. No robbery. Basically the same rules everyone else has. What "agenda" do you think a gang has? I mean aside from what you learn in the movies? Some do. The Hell's Angels do a "Toys for Tots" every year, as well as serve as security for some concerts (Rolling Stones 1969 concert at Altamont would be a bad example, though). Actually, in their own community (turf) they are very beneficial, or at least not destructive, per se. It doesn't do well to kill off your customers or your own soldiers. No, most of the gang violence comes when another gang tries to move in to an established area.
opcorn: I have another hour to work, so yaw go ahead..... please. this is good. Can see both sides, but just prefer the sidelines this afternoon.
Clif, that Altamont mention reminded me of Jim Carrey doing karoake in Cable Guy. Love this! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhtIydTmOVU
It ate me alive, but about a year before she died my mother told me about how safe her neighborhood was because the Crack house a few doors down put her on protected status.
You must admit the protection of a group NOT constrained by laws would be a bigger deterrent than just the police. This is one of the things the Mafia had going for them in their formative years where the Godfather did more than just run an illegal business.
Although she respected the police she admitted they were ineffective in an area where most of them were afraid to venture.
Militancy....Great point, Cleo. They have the weapons, organization, ranks, and funding. They perpetrate war-like violence against our society...so why are they not rounded up and charged as terrorists?
