i would definitely get someone to spray. those things are dangerous and they freak me out. you don't want to chance anyone in your home getting bite by one.

oh, I don't like spiders. I'd call and have someone come out. After looking at those pictures I can feel them crawling on me I knew I shouldn't have looked!!!!!! Could it be a lookalike? Maybe not the same one in the pictures?

Are you sure it's a brown recluse? The wolf spiders look pretty similar. I am eat up with them right now in the garage. <<Shiver>>

spray does no good for spiders, they have 8 hairy little legs that they can get right through it.....

I still have him in a jar ALIVE!!! You know there's always a good time for a science lesson.:lol: My son is going to think this is SOOOO cool, of course he'll never touch the jar......

Although I am quite freaked out about it I kinda want whatever exterminator that sprays my house to see it. I'm not sure what this will accomplish , but for some stupid reason it will just make me feel better :jester:

I was bitten by one a few years ago, and I freaked out (since my leg almost rotted off) and called exterminators, and they said there is nothing they can do. Glue traps are what I got (and what the exterminator recommended)

    http://hobospider.com/traps/index.html

and for the record, I never caught another one....

I just got off the phone with an exterminator and he did say that spray will is not a "cure all" for getting rid of them. He said to buy glue traps and make sure you shake cloths and shoes out really good before you put them on. He said "even better, anything that has been stored for the winter wash it ALL before you wear it."

Thankfully, I mostly wear sandals and flip flops since I keep my toes pretty in the summer....ok, WAY off the subject...

yep, thats the same thing I got from the exterminator....I was scared my kids would get bit, as I am sure you are. I am pretty sure mine happened when I was outside, though I am not certain. I still shook out coats and shoes. I have just a small 'hole' (indentation) in my upper thigh that remains. It was horrible.

Is there a difference in black widow bites and brown recluse bited?

About 50% of Hobo Spider bites are 'dry,' meaning that no venom is injected and nothing happens to the victim. In fact, often times the victim does not even realize that he has been bitten. Typically, when venom is injected, the victim will experience an immediate redness which develops around the bite then begins to disappear within a few hours. Very often, for the first 24 hours, the bite appears to be no worse than that of a mosquito; then it begins to blister in the center. Within 24 to 36 hours the blister breaks open, leaving an open, oozing ulceration.
