I agree. The dispelling of science by way of religion when religion, as a whole, is an abstract belief with little hard evidence to support itself is a bit over the top. His premise is way off base and it panders to those who want to make this a fight. He is basically saying that science allows no room for dissenting opinion - that is a contradictory premise. Science is not based on opinion. Science does make room for logical proof and proof of theory through testing, research and proof. I am a firm believer in evolutionary theory, yet I make room for what is yet unexplained/unproven at 'the very beginning of time'. On a lighter note: I think it is funny the movie's website has Ben dressed in a school boy outfit most closely related to the likes of Angus Young of ACDC. The quintessential image of Angus in that outfit comes from their Highway to Hell album and pictures Angus with horns and a tail (in his school boy outfit).
I can't wait to see it. The way I see it, none of us knows the truth. None of us were there for the beginning of whatever it is we're in. We can theorize until we're blue in the face, but the fact remains, we'll never have anything but collective theories and personal beliefs. Personally, I don't know what to believe. I'm too skeptical.
Saw it today and watched through the end credits looking for an acknowledgment of Michael Moore, but they didn't bother.
