    OK, I joined Weight Watchers at work today and will be starting a full day tomorrow....Need to loose at least 50 pounds, that is my personal goal. May need some help with motivation. I tend to start off good and then things go down hill. Hoping by doing this at work will help me, but not very good with the motivation on my part. May need some help......PLEASE!!!!!!! :-(

    Coincidental you should post this request this evening? I just sent the following email out to many friends.

    ======================
    Psalm 26:7
    I shout my praise to you.
    I tell about all the wonderful things you have done.

    One year and five days ago, discouraged with my lifetime weight battle to the point of seriously considering gastric bypass surgery ... I felt lead to join Weight Watchers. Some may not understand but I know those who have battled any type addiction will ... when I followed that lead I prayed often for God's strength dealing with the stronghold food had over my life. My prayers were answered within days. One year, five days later I continue to feel God's presence alongside me with the sometimes daily struggle. Because of His unfailing love I reached a significant milestone this evening. At my weekly weigh-in I received a certificate for loosing ONE HUNDRED pounds (101.4 lb to date to be exact...but who is counting ...lol!). Weight Watchers is the plan I follow but I know it is God's intervention that has kept me faithful to the program. I still have quite a journey ahead to goal. I expect the journey to be even more challenging as Satan tries to temp me to my old ways and cast doubts on my confidence to succeed. For those who are struggling with any challenge right now, I hope my experience is a testimony of Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." All the glory to God!

    16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. {1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 }

    =================

    If I can do this ... you can! Pray and go to every meeting!!! Don't even allow yourself to consider not going to weigh in one week. Mark the date and time in pen on your calendar. It will help keep you on track during the difficult days!

    ncmom, that is great!

    Having my last baby at the age of 34 + middle age (I'm almost 41) is not agreeing with me at all. Add that plus the fact that I've been a full time stay-at-home mom since 1997, which means food is ALWAYS available to me, and I tend to get less exercise than when I worked...... I need to lose at least 50 lbs (more like 75-85 :oops:) and the weight gain is only getting worse each year. :cry:

    Have you been able to lose without having a lot of excess skin? That is one of my greatest fears about losing a lot of weight.

    Okay, let's keep this thread going. Because of it, I rode my bike 4.25 miles (30 minutes, 200 calories) this morning and will do at least another 30 minutes tonight. :)

    Good luck to you too FF - I'm sure you'll do great, it truly is a lifestyle change - and thats how you have to look at, not as a diet - but how you're going to live the rest of your life (to keep it off).

    I need to loose my baby pouch :( I am tired of people asking me if I am pregnant or when am I due. And half of these people are strangers....how rude.

    My last kid was almost 3 years ago.

    What a wonderful message NCMom. I one who signed up for 4042 biggest losers but I've not been able to walk with the ladies yet. I think the time 6:30 is working against me. It's when DH and I usually sit down to eat or I'm already doing the cleaning up.

    Anyone interested in another time slot, perhaps earlier in the day. I realize it's not good for you working moms and stay at home moms. Kids need a lot of attention during the day. Let me know thoughts. I'd like to walk anywhere from 8:30 AM to ???. Any starting time will do but I do better in the mornings.

    Hubby L O V E S that movie. The suicide bathroom scene makes me cringe every time I see it. That guy's face is scaaaary.

    I do snicker at a whole bunch of the Sergent's comments, though.

    OK, my first full day of being on WWers. I went over my points by 2...had one of their smoothies tonight with milk instead of water to finish getting my milk in. hardest thing was getting the points calculated right. have my book and my points calculator, but still, sometimes hard to get the right amount. I drank a 1/2 pepsi, which a whole one was 3 points so I cut that in half. Came home and daughter had dinner done (hotdogs and chili and pasta in sauce)...ate the hotdogs (2), with some chili (chili didn't have points with 2 tbs) and did not eat the pasta. Did not get all my water in, but got half, so that is a start considering I am not a big water drinker. Do have the munchies right now, but going to eat some carrots, I guess. Had a craving for popcorn, but the only popcorn I have is either microwave butter or kettle corn. I do get an extra 35 points a week, but don't want to use them all up here at the start! Sure they will get used on the weekend. Did get some of the bars and pretzels, along with the smoothies. I love the peanutbutter ones...taste as good, if not better than a peanut butter cup! They are so good!!!!! One day down though....

    We are on a 12 week program at work and the company will reemburse us 1/2 of the program fee and if we make it to maintenance, they will give us $150.

    I like to walk, and will get lots of it in this Saturday. My daughter and I are going to the Southern Women's show. Usually go on Sunday, but my husband is off all day Sunday and he isn't much interested in going there, so will spend the day home on Sunday and go Saturday.

    So that is how my first day has gone!

    NCMOM ~ that was a great post, loved it and thanks for posting it.

    Everyone have a good evening!!!

    Sounds like you did good on your first day. Good job! :hurray:

    I did WW with a co-worker (shar824 actually) and found it was critical to get to the meetings every week for my success. I made Lifetime in July of last year and have pretty much maintained since (gained about 5 lbs. back).

    You CAN do this.

    Got on the scale at work today and it showed 1 lb less than yesterday...there is no way I lost 1 pound in 1 day!!!! I made sure I weighed after lunch, since our meetings are in the afternoon after lunch.

    Think I have done pretty good so far. My husband brought me lunch today and I had him get me one the grilled chicken salads from subway with fat free ital. dressing and some flavored water. Have not had dinner yet, but have almost 1/2 of my points left from earlier. Had one of their orange smoothies for a snack last night and it was pretty good. Going to try the chocolate tonight!

    you did great for your first full day, now quit weighing in everyday. You will be shocked the first week on how much you can lose by the changes you have made!!

    keep it up

    Ditto that!

    I made Lifetime, geeze, back in Jan. maybe? I know with the veggies, I felt like I was eating tons and tons of food. But at times I had to MAKE myself eat all my points. Not right at the start but once I got into a few weeks. I was looking for something to eat to get all my points in for the day. Which they recommend you do b/c under eating can be just as bad as over eating. I've hit a plateau and I'm having to jolt my system every now and again with an overload of chocolate.:mrgreen:

    Had my weigh in today...only lost 2 pounds, but was told stress could have a lot to do with it considering how much I stuck to the points. I guess that isn't bad....just wish it was more, but...

    My mom is back in the hospital. Her first chest tube came out on Friday, but within an hour her lung collapsed again, so she is back in the hospital. My mom told me that the doctors told her that they believe she has a "slow leak" somewhere because her lung in not inflating. As of today, she still has the tube in and there is talk of surgery to try to repair her lung. Right now she is worse off than she was before they did the biopsy. On speaking of the biopsy, she was told that it could take up to 6 months before they get the results of it and they really don't think it is really anything....with that being said, if they don't believe that it was anything, then why in the HE "double hocky sticks" did they do the biopsy for??? I hate it that I am here and she is in the hospital and talking to my dad, he is so lost. Just driving me nuts.

    But trying to stay concentrated on my weight watchers and everything else, even though it is hard. And pray a lot.

    I've been successful on WW and love the program. Journaling, meetings, and the message boards were a great help and inspiration to me. Right now, I'm using

    www.myfooddiary.com

    and I love it. It's helping me track my eating and head in a healthier direction.
