I think it's Cleveland Oaks Postal Unit, something like that, but it's a contract substation of the Garner P.O.
How bout Between, NC. When they ask where in the **** that is, tell um its between Clayton and Fuquay, just like I always do. LOL
I agree too! As long as I've been alive it's always been known to me as Cleveland School. When I was little (born and raised in Wake Co. on 1010) we would go down 1010 (Cleveland School Road) on the way to my Grandma's in Goldsboro. My mom would always call it Cleveland School when we came through the area.
Its always been Cleveland School and always will be. And no matter who you talk to in Raleigh or anywhere else you will have to give them directions. Cleveland springs just does not fit the area.
Yeah i see where you folks are coming from about the Cleveland School name but guess what, most the folks that live here are not from here and they have no memory of riding to family through "Cleveland School". Unfortunately for the oldtimers, they are now in the minority in this area and something has to be chosen as a compromise. It is sad but times do change and nothing stays the same. But if we want to act like politics and fight amongst ourselves then nothing will ever happen and we will have to go the way of annexation and be called Clayton or Garner, obviously something has to give to prevent that from happening.
I-40 has only been here about 20 years, and look at all the problems it has caused! Cleveland School has much historical significance, and this area will always be called that no matter what is decided. I wonder if Clayton will not give up the idea of annexation after the 70 bypass dries it up? After all, why stop at all those stoplights if you don't have too? Or will that make them want it more? There is that new WalMart coming... And will this area be subjected to buying electricty from Clayton if it is annexed by them? Nobody would want that, the rate is sky-high! (2 mark-ups, they buy from Electric Cities, who buys from Progress Energy)
I vote for "Cleveland School". I am one of the so-called old timers who have lived here all of my life. It is what is has always been called. The only reason others who live in the area or around it don't know this is because most people around here are now transplants. Nothing at all wrong with that, but just how it is now. How many of you know someone who was raised here and went to the old Cleveland School when it was K-8? You will not find many of them.
