We sent cookies this morning, DS will do a card tonight and I will send a small gift on Friday. Not sure yet what it will be, but probably a gift card.

And I'm doing it because I DO appreciate his teacher, not because of some list the PTA sent out.

I didn't think we did either. But my son informed me that there is one, her office is over by the main office, I guess he's been there before for tummy issues. I don't know her name and have never heard her mentioned anywhere, so couldn't tell you any more than that!

I was told by one of my sons schools that the nurse is there one day a week because she has to cover alot of schools.

One day per week is right. They are able to call one in if the problem is thought to warrant it.

Our PTA, which I am a part of, handled all of the gifts. We are doing something special everyday. As a matter of fact, we arranged for the ice cream truck to come to school, and the teachers get to go get their ice cream. Something fun!!!

    SM,
Glad that this was handled in house. Apparently not every school or PTA did it the same way.
    thanks for supporting your teachers!

I'm a teacher and I totally prefer kids to write me a letter or make me a card. I think it's more from the heart. If you look on wral you can post a letter to your teacher online to show them how you appreciate them. I got one and it almost made me cry.

I may be mistaken but I didn't hear of our PTA doing anything. I think a lot of the parents in my kid's class don't even know about it because he said his teacher hadn't gotten any other presents this week.

Our family does this because we really do appreciate our teachers. That being said, the Key Club at Clayton High School is preparing goody bags for all of the teachers. Way to go Key Club!

At my son's school the PTA does something once a month for teachers, and then they're doing things throughout the week (I think) for them this week. And tomorrow they're doing a tea party for them. Last year this time they did a cook out.

Don't know about the school above but when do the teachers teach at that one?

Anyhow, picked my teen up and she said they made 87 bags today for teachers and ran out of bags. Others were going to get more bags and finish getting every teacher a bag of goodies. The Key Club pays for this from dues and fund raisers (I hate fund raisers).

Thanks to all of you teachers out in the real world.

    Sherry
