Thought I'd try something a little different. Has God blessed you today or this week in some way? Is there something God has done or provided that you are thankful for and willing to share with the group? Doesn't have to be something BIG, but it can be. It could be the simple fact you have a job to go to. Or, a new friend has entered into our life. Or, you just saw or heard something that touched your heart. You may have a lot of things you'd like to share, or only one or two. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I'll start with just a few. Thank you, God, for sending us a Savior, your Son, Jesus Christ. Thank you for the beginnings of a new garden where I may be able to share some of my bounty with my family and friends. Thank you, God, that I have a home to go to and a bride that loves me. Lord, thank you for a beautiful daughter who sung with her school choir tonight, and blessed us with their voices. Also, God, thank you for your patience with me when I fall short of the mark.
I thank God everyday for even the little things. If the light turns green as I approach, I say a little prayer of thanksgiving. I am also thankful for everyday I get to spend with my mom...she is extremely sick. I am thankful for my DH's recent salvation. I am extremely thankful for my pastor - he is such a honest, straigh forward man of God. I am thankful for all of the smiles my 4-legged babies put on my face. I am thankful for that I have a HUGE family and we are always there for each other. Oh gosh...I could go on forever!
Great post, sister! And, that's just it, God's children WILL go on forever and ever, thanking Him for Eternity! Isn't that fantastic? Thank you, God, for the rain last night!
Thank God for the people in our lives that have touched us in some way even for just a little bit in our past, I thank God for knowing them and for being touched by them. (A girl I graduated high school with and was in Girl Scouts with many years ago passed away suddenly on Monday, she was 37. She is survived by two small children, 7 & 9 with whom their father also passed away 4 years ago!) I know this is a Thankfulness Thread but I also want to send out special prayers to those boys!! Myself, I am thankful to have known Kim!
I thank God every day for my 3 children. I feel blessed that the Lord gave my His children to nuture and love. I know that they are precious gifts and try my best to be thankful that He entrusted them to me and my husband. I thank God for every day I'm alive because I know that we are not promised tomorrow. However, we are promised eternity-if we believe- and for that, I am also thankful.
I thank God for... for saving me, even after 31 years of being lost and no sense of purpose giving me two children that are happy, healthy and strong-willed and have a curiousity for you a marriage of 8 years that is stronger than it has ever been a career that actually allows me to serve the Lord for putting it in my heart to care for others that are less fortunate for the opportunity to build his Kingdom for directing me to C3 (a place where I want to be rather feeling like I have to be there) which has helped me build a relationship with Him, puts His Word in my heart and provides the tools for me to be a disciple for the crazy idea of moving me and my family to NC just 18 months ago with no family or job or friends here, yet making me feel like this is where we belonged the whole time for allowing me to spend 9 months with my mom where I had only seen her 6 times in three years before taking her to heaven last year Thank you God. You are awesome!
Thank you for God's Salvation, the privlege and power of prayer, my loved ones, my church, and all the many blessings in my life!! So many things big and small!! To God be the Glory!
Thank you God, that my daddy is still cancer free, even though he cut down one of my tomato plants last week. lol. Thank you God for the scholarship my daughter got a few weeks ago. When she told me months ago that she wanted to take classes during summer school I told her we would find a way. I spend many sleepless nights crying and worrying about how I was going to come up with the money. Out of the blue she was awarded this scholarship. Never once did I think about praying for money?? And, I can't believe I'm saying this but Thank you God for softening her dad so that he offered to pay the balance. God has always provided a way for me and my girls over the years. Thank you God.
Thank you God for another beautiful day. Thank you for the rain that brought us out of a serious drought. Thank you most of all for your abundant love for us and forgiveness for our sins. Let us be a witness to others and go out and tell them about salvation. Thank you for the many blessings to numerous to mention that you bestow on us every day. We are not worthy but may we strive to be. Thank you for our children and youth of today and may we realize the importance of you being upmost in their lives. It is our responsibiity to show them the way. It is so important in todays world of sinfulness that they have the opportunity to know you!!
thank you god for ...... giving kent the idea of trying something new, which made me realize all of my complaints today have been meaningless.
Thanks Fiz...I was just getting ready to look this thread up, but you made it much easier! Thank God that in a time when layoffs are in abundance at my work I still have not only a job, but a career. My work is a PITA, but at least I can pay my bills and put food on the table.
For allowing me to wake up each day to see your beauty all around me, for my children and for finding the wonderful man I am married to, for letting me still have my parents and my grandmother. For watching over my son with him far away from home serving his country. For allowing me to experience his angels personally many years ago, for allowing me to have a job to go to every day no matter how frustrating it can be at times. Thank you God for each day you allow me to spend on this earth and experince all you have given me.
Thank you, Lord, for the testimonies of those who have shared their thoughts, that through their words You will be glorified. Thank you, Lord, also for the testimony and leadership of Coach Jerry Moore of Appalachian State University who also has something to share: http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid1137883230?bctid=1435437082 (not just a sports video - you'll see)
I try to remember to thank God for the "small stuff"... the things we take for granted. When I look at the sky at sunset and see one of His beautiful pictures painted across it, I thank Him for it. When I grumble about having to take the dogs out one last time at night and then have my spirits lifted by a gorgeous moon, I thank God for it, and for showing it to me. It is easy for me to remember to thank Him for all the blessings in my life... my husband, our kids, our health, home, happiness, etc.... but I want to get better at thanking Him for EVERYTHING. After last summer, I do remember to thank Him for the rain now!
Thank you God for sending us your son. Thank you for my wonderful family and friends and my church family. I don't say it enough, but thank you Lord for every day you give me!
Thank you for me and DH being healthy, all of my famlies being healthy, for the help that we have now with our business, for giving me friends who understand me and love me unconditionally. Thank you for the 16 + years me and my family had with Shelby who is hanging out with Hunter now in doggie heaven. I appreciate the sun rising every day and the beautiful sunsets that you've created for us. I'm thankful everyday that DH and I wake up. God knows we haven't been the best people in our younger years and even now. Thank you for letting me talk to you, in my own way, I know you understand what I'm saying.
thank you for this incredible group of people who come together on 4042, that no matter what our differences are, we all come together in times of need or encouragement.
