Ok, I am trying not to be mad as fire.... bus was stopped, lights flashing, stop sign out.... my son had just crossed the street to get on the bus and a white pick up truck (extended cap with cap) comes barreling down the road and doesn't even pause. Bus driver laid on her horn, but he just kept coming. THANK GOD my son was already past that lane, and in front of the bus. We were all in shock and no one got a plate number. I could see it was a man. If it was anyone reading this you are darn lucky nothing happened. I am one of those mamma's who would have killed you before the ambulance could arrive. Parents, watch your kids, there are complete driving idiots out there.
I'm SO glad your son is alright and nothing happened! That is scarey! I hope someone is able to find out who it was somehow. People come flying through our nieghborhood at times and I want to jump out and smack them!
I know what you mean. We bought our home on what we thought was a back country road, only to find out later its nickname is 'cut through road'!
I'm one of those mama's too, ljk. I'm glad he is ok and no one was hurt. Stupid drivers!!! Slow down!!! Why are you in a hurry to get to work anyway? :?
I would permanently post myself at the bus stop every morning until I saw the truck again so I could get a license plate number. And then of course, when the bus left, hunt him down and ........... :x:x:mrgreen:
That is my plan. The stop is in front of my house and he turned on a side street, so I am sure he will be back. I want to be in my car driving around looking for him right now, but I know that is not feasible.
and when you get that tag number let me know, and I will get you an address of whom it is registered to, should you desire.
I think any parent would share your anger, I would. I don't know if this happened on a main road or in a neighborhood, but keep a lookout for that truck and try to get the plates when you see it and report them. Get any eyewitnesses to corroborate your story. Mike
It's pretty hard to miss a big yellow bus with flashing lights! I'm glad he's safe!! Keep an eye out for this fool. Let us know if you find him!
 Dang! That's too close! Yeah, I'd be at the stop too! He'll be back for sure. Get that tag #...
The bus stop is at my front door... not a main road, but has become busier over the past few years. (lots of new subdivisions etc) He is the only one at the stop, so no other parents were here... but hubby and bus driver both saw it as well. The bus driver just looked over at us, like "OMG!!" but there wasnt anything more she could do, poor lady. I think she saw his life flash just as bad as we did!! The bus was actually running pretty late today, so I wonder if that will throw things off looking for the truck? I can sit out there all morning all week if I need to! Thanks for the support. I know nothing happened, but I just keep thinking what if... ya know!!
I'm very happy that your son is ok. My daughter's bus stop is also on "cut-through road" (different area though). I hope you catch that guy. Need me to go round up a few pitchforks so I can arm the angry mob?
So glad your son is OK! DS's bus stop is also on a heavily traveled road (Loop near Riverwood)....................I've almost gotten hit just getting my mail. Seriously folks, THINK about where you are driving. You are not the ony person on the road and getting somewhere a few seconds faster isn't worth someone's life. I hope you find out who it was.
I'm glad he is ok, and I hope you find out who did it! Every morning I sit outside till my daughter gets on the bus, and her bus driver will NOT let her cross the road untill all cars have stopped completely, they can't even be slowly rolling. I have seen her wait several minutes before she is allowed to cross the road. People behind the bus have gone as far as blow their horns at the bus because of it. I don't care, cause she is doing the right thing.
ljk, I am so glad your son is OK. What a f------ idiot. If that was my son, I'd feel the same way you do and he would have been dead before the cops could have arrested him. Do you live in a subdivision or is it a country road? Subdivisions are no better than country roads when it comes to speed. We have idiots galore in our neighborhood who come barreling down our street. I'd love to lay down one of those things the cops use to throw across the road to slow down suspects they are pursuing. They make the idiots car tires go flat.
sounds like the idiots who come down Josephine road in the mornings does 60+ in a 45 zone and try to maintain that speed through the S-curve near cornwalis. Hey idiots, you are not a Nascar driver. I would wait at your child's bus stop with a 3 lb rock in hand so you can throw at his *** next time he tries to pull off that stunt
probably some creep who thinks he is above the law. Iwas going to Shoe carnival tonight and some girl driving a black Ion with a vanity plate that read "dance2jc" stoped at a red light then busted through it like a beeeotch. OMG I was so poed. why cant people just slow down. I hope you catch the creep that passed the bus.
LJK, where did this take place? I am so sorry to hear about that but glad he is ok too. What a f****** jerk!
