I am looking for a family church for my family. We also have an older daughter that I would like for her to have some interaction with other family members of the church, I want all this for all the reasons we should be a family in the lords home. I was raised Methodist and would like to visit a few churches before saying this is the one I like. I want to be close to home to go to church. With that in mind, I then can enjoy the activities of being a church family. My other request that is a it is not a big congergation. I have issues in large groups. I do better in smaller congregations. I feel like everyone is watching me. Please someone or everyone who is local please give me some help with some input and help. I saw Elizabeths Chapel coming home tonight on Cleveland School road. Anyone that hash any in put about the church and it's congregation and also who goes there to worship. Please help me anyone and everyone. Thank you for any in put and help with this.
I invite you to visit Elizabeth United Methodist Church, at 4269 Cleveland Rd. We have a small congregation (average attendance on Sundays is around 45), with opportunities for worship, fellowship, and Bible study. Worship on Sundays begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by coffee in the fellowship hall and Sunday school for all ages, from pre-school through adult. We have active groups of United Methodist Women and United Methodist Men, and we are starting a children's choir. Please join us!
We attend Mt. Zion Methodist Church when we can. I would say its medium size, not really small but not a huge mega church either.
my daughter has been there and felt very warm and welcomed. Also Hollands is a large Methodist Church on Hwy 1010 near Old Stage. Good luck in your search.

We are in the Clayton area and are members of Greater Heights United Methodist. It is a new church that is just started last year. We have a service every Sunday at 11 at Clayton High School. In the middle of June, we will be moving to Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club. The services are all casual dress and we currently have a congregation of about 75. There is a children's church and nursery available as well. We would love to see you there!
I second Elizabeth. We have recently started going and really love it. The pastor is a terrific speaker and we have been made to feel very welcome.
I have to give a shout out to Johnson Memorial Church on Hwy 50. We have an awesome congregation. We are medium size, but we are one big family. And, I don't want to play favorites, but being the youth pastor, we have a great youth group.
I'd like to invite you to Oakland Presbyterian Church - right on Cleveland Road next to The Annex and DR Wells. This is a very warm and loving church and visitors are always welcomed warmly. It is a small congregation - traditional service - but active with fellowship suppers, youth group, Bible study - just lots of activities if you chose to participate. Come on, we'd love to have you!
I am a member of Mt. Zion. They are a great bunch of folks. Come visit anytime. Our services are at 8:45 and 11. Sunday school is at 10.
Matt Evans is great, he's come to speak at our church several times. Supposedly there is a new UMC that is being started in the 4042 area. Does anyone know who's starting it or know anything about it?
Willow Springs Christian Fellowship is a very small church, but wonderful people! I too was overwhelmed by a big congregation and this one is great because everyone knows everyone and Pastor Yates is a great pastor. We are currently remodling a chapel on Old Fairground Rd (which is where the Lighthouse Christian Academy will be also) , but are meeting at a daycare behind the McDonalds and the State Credit Union off 210/40 at 10:30 am. Freedom Chapel on Old fairground road in Benson is a very quiet and small church. The people are great and the pastor and his family are loving and welcoming!! Services start at 11:00 with Sunday school starting at 10:00. We do have children's church and the teachers are awesome. It is non-denominational and has the old music as well as the contemporary. they also have Wednesday night bible study at 7:00 pm till 8:00 pm.
