I call it life. I'v been in those situations, so have all of you. I call those people in Asia recovering from an earthquake, and looking for their loved ones dead bodies in the rubble a dangerous situation. So I save my pity for the people who severely need it.

I am glad to see you have some compassion, just wish there was a little more you could spread around.

No, I have never had my estranged husband kidnap my cats. And threaten me with bodily harm. But hey, if it makes you feel better to pile on, then go ahead, I'm sure she's dealt with worse than an internet message board bully. :?

And yes, I know we have only heard one side of the story, I still hope she is OK, nothing wrong with that.

Speaking of lawyers..does anyone have a recommendation for a lawyer in the Clayton/Garner area who can get a will together for me....for a reasonable fee (if there is such a thing?) Also, has anyone ever used one of those do it yourself will kits? Any advice?

I had compassion when I read her post a while back. But braggin about gaining more money than she had hoped makes me lose that compassion. Sorry. And yes there are two sides of the story, so without me hearing the whole case it's a hard thing to sympathize with.

And maybe you havn't had her exact case happen to you. But we have all been through trials and tribulations.

Could you go over her post again, and show us where she bragged? I must have missed that. i saw "more alimony than expected" but when you're not expecting much of anything, more than expected isn't really bragging. To your previous point about only women congratulating her:

Congratulations Goldie! I'm glad to hear that you will at least get some reparation for this, you deserve it, and I'm very sorry you had to go through such a terrible time.

Back to you, omni. If you were a real man, you would have been just as offended by the abuse that this fellow 'man' put his wife through as i was. Being against divorce is one thing. Many people don't believe in it, but your posts in this thread don't so much represent an anti-divorce stance as an anti-alimony stance. Do you really think this is the thread in which to make that point? Are you so focused on your own personal hangups to be unable to put them aside long enough for a simple gesture sensitivity towards what this person went through, or failing that simply ignoring the thread due to its highly personal nature?

Anyway, enjoy your Saturday. Maybe you can find someone selling a sense of humanity for cheap at a yard sale.

I'm sorry. But I don't believe her story. Simply because the other side does not get a chance to speak. Try this one on for size... I have 18 arms. Do you believe me? No? Why? I said it, therefore it must be true. Normally both sides have a hand in anything that happens. And from her attitude I don't think she was the perfect wife. (no offence). So pardon me.

I do not take sides after only hearing one side.

I havn't chosen any side. I am just stating why I don't believe her without hearing all factors. I never rooted for the husband. But it doesn't matter. No matter how I make everyone still ignores them.

Do I need to remind you of this? You know, you have such opinions on things, maybe you should review your previous posts before you respond. No one needs to stay in an abusive relationship, nor eat at Marcos pizza 7 days a week. You are indeed entitled to your opinions, but people are entitled to disagree. I think you should find a more productive hobby then trying to anger people on this forum. It might do you some good.

Wow! I hope Goldie meant "soon to be EX-husband."

ALSO, he's a cop AND a CAT BURGLAR. Now that's irony!

If the shoe fits... where it. Now if she refused to take any money because it is his and she doesn't want any connection to him. Thats totally different. But instead she has a bad relationship...oh well atleast I get some money out of it. That falls into the lines of gold digging.
