This year is my husband's first Father's Day. We have a beautiful 4 month old little girl. I am having a hard time thinking of something "meaningful" to give him. He put a lot of thought in Mother's Day. It's always easy finding a woman something, but a man.....any suggestions?

    Thanks for your help!

April, what is your DH like? What would be meaningful to him as a first father's day gift? Is he a yard person? If so, maybe you could buy a young tree to plant in your yard, maybe something like a pink dogwood, to represent your daughter and how she grows.

Would he like a special picture of her framed especially for him? A poem that can be personalized, something like this, maybe?

I don't know, that is a very hard question to answer since we know nothing about him. :?

Best wishes though, and congrats on that baby girl!

I like the tree idea... thats beautiful! My first thought was a nice picture framed and her little hand or foot print on the matting around the picture.

Omni.. your just an idiot with useless comments.

I agree with the pink Dogwood tree. That and maybe hand prints on a stepping stone to place around the tree. Excellent idea. Maybe plant it where he can see it from his chair in the den.

Hey, hey, hey, Omni1...it is for Father's Day! What a hoot.

Another thing is write a letter "from her" and give it to him.

    "Dear Daddy,

The day I was born, I just knew that I was going to be a daddy's girl. When someone gave me to you and you looked at my face, I knew you were my daddy and I was glad....."

Something like that. With that, you could put it in a special frame with a picture of her and her daddy.

I think this would be something unique and different.

That is really cute. I like that idea. Also one of the most original but also the best....cast her handprint into a small disk shape. Then he can keep that on his desk or somewhere.

For my husband's first Father's Day presents, his not-yet-born little daughter and I gave him a Lane Rocker/Recliner, so that he could help with some of those sleepless nights. It was the most popular chair in the house for several years.

Thank you!!! Just wish I had thought of it when my kids were little!!! Oh well, their biological father, who has absolutely nothing to do with them, wouldn't have appreciated it anyway.
