Lookie what was out on my hibiscus plant tonite..2 of them even! I love praying mantis's, and these are so small...just babies! I know the picture is a little grainy.. but I couldn't zoom in real close because they were so small..so I zoomed and cropped the best picture I could get. They were only about an inch long...very very t-iny!
Yea!!!! I can't wait until my egg sack hatches. I'll have 100's of them!!! :hurray::hurray::hurray: Yes, before you ask ....this is TRUE. I have a praying mantis egg sack. HG has seen it....just waiting and waiting and waiting for it to hatch. 8)
I've seen them too... Logans Trading (downtown Raleigh) was also selling them. You could get a container with 2 egg sacks in it, they were each attached to a small twig and it said each egg sack could contain up to 200 babies. I love to watch a praying mantis, I have a picture I took of a female eating a male, if anyone wants me to post that one....
Will do! And they do a FANTASTIC job of eating unwanted bugs in gardens and on rose bushes....or really bushes of any kind. I hatch a sack every year! LOLOL
Cool, that is great to know. i would love to see it, maybe tomorrow evening before i go to DGS's ballgame if you are home, i will wander down to check them out if ok with you.
I'll be here....not like I go anywhere too much  It should be hatching soon as it usually takes 2-4 weeks and it's been 3.5 ....
I've seen more around my house in the past few years than I ever saw in my lifetime ... now I'm glad they're actually useful!! (I just thought they were cool looking!) Will keep an eye out for the little critters!
