Yes, public school. Ours was Riverwood Middle. I think the parents need to take control and just "say no" next year. I'm talking about the sane parents. A cookout with burgers and hotdogs, shorts and tee shirts along with music outside will be way more fun. Sherry
I don't understand? If you are money savy like myself, you can get away without spending much money. I know at Ross you can get formals cheap, I just bought mine for a July wedding, when I bought my daughters for this formal. I think the total for both formal dresses was $50.00 and that was with tax. My dress has a price tag from the Mfr. on it for $150.00 and I paid less than $25.00 for it. If you plan ahead and look often you can get some really good deals. IF parents choose a different path, then that is their choice. I for one will NOT be sending my child to an 8th grade dance in a limo. That is reserved for the "real" Jr/Sr Proms. I'll be helping her give herself a mani and pedi this evening and then tom. night I'll be helping her style her hair for the event. I'll take pictures myself and if there is a photographer at school and she wants a pic with her friends, then I'll endulge on that. This dance has only cost me $55.00 and she'll wear the dress again in July.
My step-son has TWO cook-outs, a bowling field trip, an awards ceremony, and a movie day! I guess I'm glad I don't know about the formal in addition to all this! How much celebrating do they have to do? LOL (oh yeah and we have a end of year party at home too!)
Is he in 8th grade? It's only for 8th graders and it's tom. night. He might just be the typical boy and be blowing it off.
Thanks Southernborn! I did see a dance listed on the paper of all the end-of-year events, but it doesn't say formal, it just says, 'graduation dance'....oh wait...hold everything.....as I was typing this he JUST told me he had another paper about it. LOL Go figure! Well if he wants to go, he betta make up his mind like yesterday!
