Anyone know what happened at the video store of 42 yesterday afternoon? Went by around 7ish and it was crime scene taped off with lots of sheriff cars out. Heard they were robbed, but wanted to see if anyone had the "real" story.
Do you mean A-1 Video behind Food Lion? I don't know, but the sheriff was at my house at 6:15 last night and had to hurry up because a call came in, he left with lights flashing but I don't know where he went.
yes, that's the one. They had a couple of people sitting on the sidewalk outside, looked like they were in handcuffs. An older, rough looking man and a teenage looking kid. The entire parking lot and all around the building were blocked off. I just hope nobody was hurt.
That video store had a for sale/lease sign up last month, but now it's not there anymore. I was wondering if they sold it, changed their minds, or what happened? I hate that video store, it reaks of smoke whenever I go in there! Sure wish one would open up in the LF shopping center... Hate that it was robbed, and who in the world would rob a video store? I guess they figure it's not that busy, but then how much money could they possibly get? I guess I'll never understand a criminal's mind!
Because of the cash they keep and the videos they could sell on E-bay, yard sales etc... Could also be the CC numbers they swipe - identity theft comes to mind.
Didn't miss much Cleo new person responded that yes the video store was robbed by using some colorful wording. Then proceeded to say that if we didn't like the smoke we could all go back up north or wherever we came from, then called us all "witches" with a B. Not sure what that was all about. Oh well.

I'm glad no one was hurt. The folks working at the video store have always been very friendly & helpful when my family rents movies. It's worrisome to hear about all the robberies around the area lately. I saw on 1270wmpm that Progress Energy may go up substantially on our bills, gas is already very high, food prices are increasing ... everything is going up ... with the exception of pay checks. It sounds like folks are getting desparate. I hope they did have the bad guys in cuffs. I hate the idea of having crooks lurking around the area. This is a great area to live in & I certainly don't want it spoiled by low life theives.
people on here need to learn how to spell.. i mean come on what in the world does Rasinet mean?? wow.. everyone is so mean on here and the people at the video store has been nothing but nice to their customers. obviously the people that have wrote these replies have no regard for other peoples feelings its sad how so many people are concerned about the smoking that goes on in the store rather than the actual events that took place on tuesday night people could have been hurt when that store was robbed smoking and late fees played no role in this.!! fees are apart of every company that you work for if you dont want late fees turn your movies in on time.. !!
