I just bought some of the last strawberries at the strawberry farm and they told me to eat them quickly because they won't last long. I thought I might freeze some to make ice cream later. So, does anyone have a really good strawberry ice cream recipe? We would be using an electric ice cream maker - the kind that uses ice and rock salt. We have never made ice cream, so I need details!!! Thanks.
Bought some Peaches and Vanilla Ice Cream at Lowe's yesterday! Some more will disappear tonight!
Don't mind him. LOL Our foster dog is named Bria.. BTW, I don't have a good strawberry ice cream recipe, but if you find one and make some I'll be glad to taste test for you!
Thanks for clearing that up! It really threw me. My name is Brenda and my nickname in college was Brea, so that is the screen name I like to use. I'm still awaiting that elusive ice cream recipe! Anyone? :allears:
Let me look tomorrow.................I have my Grandmother's around here somewhere and it is to die for. Expensive to make, but delicious. Bump this tomorrow, I'm too lazy to go look right now...............
I love me some google! I always look there or food network for recipes. Yum! I would LOVE to ahve some good sugar free strawberry ice cream.
I usually do google for things, but I really wanted a tried and true recipe. Sometimes it's hard to know if something you find online is good or not! I'm really starting to crave that ice cream now!
Basic Ice Cream 1 French Vanilla INSTANT Pudding 5 eggs beaten 2 cups white sugar 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Pinch of Salt 1 Can EVAPORATED Milk Mix together with mixer and leave in refridgerator until next day. Mix up well, put mixture in ice cream freezer and fill 2/3 full with whole milk. I also whip a pint of cream and add to the mixture. You can add crushed bananas, strawberries, peaches, etc. to the mix. For Chocolate, use Fudge Choc. Instant pudding and white sugar. Butter Pecan Ice Cream 1 Butter Pecan Instant Pudding 5 Eggs Beaten 1 Cup Brown Sugar 1 Cup White Sugar 1 Teaspoon Vanilla 1 Can Evaporated milk 1 cup Pecan Pieces Mix together with mixer, put in refrigerator til next day. Mix up good and put in ice cream freezer and fill 2/3 full with whole milk. You can put the whipped cream in this too.
Thank you, thank you! They sound wonderful! I'll let you know how it turns out. Probably won't be till next weekend though.
Well dernit! I can't eat it until tomorrow if I mix it tonight?! I got my strawberries all cut up, ready, and waiting on me at home...can you bend the "put in refrigerator until next day" or is that the key to the granny goodness?
You're welcome to come try some too! I'll let you know when we get around to making it. Did the house and land next to you ever sell?
