No offence to anyone, but I left a 'big' playgroup because it wasnt a right fit for me and my son. I wanted to get together with some of the moms that I have gotten to 'know' a bit on here, not complete strangers. My son is intimidated by large groups, and I am a bit of a 'home body' so the small intimate group we started with was what I was looking for. Feel free to proceed however is best for the group, I just wanted to put my 2 cents out there.
How did you get an email? From Webbie? I didn't know he was going to do that, or put it on the homepage. I'm sure he was just trying to help...If it makes you all feel any better, I haven't gotten any more interest from anyone new in 3 days, so I don't think it's going to get "out of hand"...
I don't think you're being rude at all! I wanted this to be a 4042.com playgroup, and that's what it is, as far as I'm concerned! Safety is my concern as well, which is why I'm using my new 4042 email, and not putting the address of our first date out there for people to see who aren't invited... There have been 11 (I think) people tell me they want to be included, and 5 have said they'll be at the first playdate, plus me and the hostess so far. I'm thinking I'll hear from more next Monday and Tuesday when it gets closer. I will be out of town the rest of this week, so no one will be hearing from me, don't think I've fallen off the planet!
LKJ Didn't want you to think you had a stalker. Jacob and I pulled in your driveway this am but when I saw your husband was home I didn't want to disturb your family time. PM me with your number and I will give you a warning next time. I had your number at the store but didn't remember to get it when I left. If your sons enjoy the water, our pool is up and running and I'm sure Jacob would appreciate somebody besides me to keep him company. We'll be here Thursday and all weekend, just give me a call. Sorry I know this should have been a PM, but I think your box is probably overwhelming because I've tried that before with no response.---Rachael
Yo! Just an FYI - As new threads are added to the 4042.com forums, they are automatically "promoted" on the front page of the site. This is true for all threads in the public forums. So at any one time, the most recent threads are listed on the front page with a link to draw traffic to the forums. (In the same way that our most recent news stories are listed a the bottom of the forums list.) One of our regular Local Updates was sent out yesterday. Our updates include upcoming events, contests we are running, breaking news for the area, etc. We also pull and promote items of interest from the Forums on occassion - so this thread was mentioned in that update. If you would like to get the Local Updates (which normally go out every 1-2 weeks), you can sign up here: 8)
I didnt see you!! He works from home so he is here ALLLL the time. (not sure if that is a good thing or not) LOL Thursday sounds good, I will PM you. (need to go clean out the junk to make room for new messages)
I guess I just don't understand the push for a yahoo group, when we have this sticky'd thread and an email list. The last thing I want is a bunch of evites for someone's homebased business.
You must have been in the last group I was in!!! It became the "Moms working from home group"! It lost focus on the kids and became a way to promote thier wares!
I STILL get evites. No, so and so I don't need any sex toys. Thanks! How many does somebody need? I finally figured out I could just remove myself from the list via evite... just the other day.
Monkey Joes in Cary by next door to Borders on Walnut Street. It is a great place for kids! It is new, and wonderful! They have all the bounce houses and food and wifi.
I love Monkey Joes! I bought a punch card to help it be more affordable. We could even carpool if anyone wanted, but I worry about one child getting cranky and needing to leave before the others in the carpool. What about Bullwinkles?
I was hoping to find something closer to home, (not sure what that would be).8) With 4 kids and gas at $4 a gallon, plus the cost of getting in someplace, etc. I couldn't do that one.
