I have a friend that is wanting to get his Class B cdl but doesn't have a truck to take the test with. How do people go about doing this if they don't have a truck to use for the test?
Does he need to take classes or just the test? If he needs classes, Johnston Community College has a truck driving school.
Perhaps JCC would know where he can get a truck for the test since they have that truck driving school? Might be worth a shot. Best of luck to him.
My husband did it here in Maine. He studied for the written test and he went to a trucking school and was able to pay for a set amount of hours to practice with the truck and then was able to use their truck for the test. Not sure if that is avail. down there.
Class B I can almost guarantee JCC will not provide such a service. Their school is for class A cdl. Best bet is to contact a dump truck company and try to rent truck for the test. It is a catch 22 situation; someone with a class B should accompany the person to DMV for the test. Special attention by the driver to pre-trip inspection or driver will not even get out of the parking lot before exam. failure. Good luck.
Is taking a pee test part of getting your CDL license, or do you have to have a current physical w/a pee test? Is it the same for A or B?
requirements Simple answer is yes to all of above. As with most Federal laws it has grey areas that can become gotchas. Medical card is required for CDL initial test and all employers are required to have a drug testing program. I have now related more than I know. Hope it helps.
If your friend needs a job when he gets done, PM me, I have a family member that is a recruiter for a trucking company. 8)
