One of our dogs is like that. Chow/something mix. She'll whine and act really excited, but almost never barks at anything. She snaps her teeth instead. Kind of strange but cute.

Count your blessings!! Our last dog yapped non-stop. This new pup only barks at the cats right now. I am working on getting her to stop that, and hope that's all she barks at, LOL.

Shelby didn't bark until I taught her how.

    *Speak* and she'd bark.

Most Chow's and Chow mixes (like peaches dogs) don't bark, unless there's something to bark at, which is a GREAT trait in a dog.

One of my college professors had a 7 year old golden retriever that had barked twice in his life that they knew of. My dog didn't bark much until after his first birthday...now he barks way too much, at everything, real or imagined! Count your blessings, unless you wanted a watchdog.

    The SnuffDog barks when:

    1. someone's at the front door,

    2. No one's at the front door,

    3. somewhere, anywhere else in the world, another dog is barking,

    4. None of the above.
