How Do You Deal With Gossipy Neighbors?

I lives in a nice subdivision and unfortunately, I do have several neighbors (mostly women in my age with kids) who never stop gossip about me. They were saying things that are silly and some hurtful comments. I stay away from them because I don't like people who gossip those kind of things. They are mostly housewives and it's no wonder they continue to gossip because they don't have anything else to do.

How do you deal with that kind of people if you were in my situation? I just ignore them and not to worry about them.

 

Sounds like snobs to me......I would just ignore them and carry on

I would do just the opposite and use reverse psychology...ask them what the latest gossip about you is and if they have suggestions on how to make you a better person...It'll freak 'em out, and most likely get them to quit.

Or, just flat out out call them on it. Be diplomatic. "So, I hear you have some intrusive interest in my life, and I was wondering what I could fill you in on to dispel any misinformation you might have received or concocted"

Or, just be silent. The people doing the talking will look like arseholes if they are spreading gossip, and you say nothing and treat everybody with kindness and dignity.

I have done this, it doesn't stop the gossip but it sure is fun.

Sounds to me like you are doing all that you really can do. I totally understand your frustrations, it is hurtful. As much as we like to play it off like we don't care it blows when people are mean and hurtful for no reason. My suggestion, continue to ignore their gossip, be sure to smile and say hi whenever you see them, comment on how pretty their flowers are etc etc. I know whenever I have been a butt to someone and they are nice to me I feel like crap.

 

Ignore all stupid people.....

Go outside and mow the lawn or do some gardening, weeding in a thong.

Then next week, go rent a limo - The big SUV one

then... get my drift?

I'd f with them as much as I could. That's just me though.

Oh yes....she is speeding things up LOTS. Movers will be there on Tuesday of next week and she may just move in this weekend with the essentials. :hurray:
