"Single Family Home" 4000 sq ft When I think of single family homes I think of less square footage. It's nice.
I agree! My house is 3600 sf, and we have a family of 5, and we only use 1/2 of our house! My 3 kids are very close and all share a room, so 2 bedrooms aren't used. They all use 1 bath and me and hubby use ours, so 2.5 baths aren't used, and we've only eaten in the dining room twice in 3 years! We're definitely downsizing next time (which will be as soon as our house sells, hopefully sooner rather than later!)
Our problem is that both my husband & I work out of the house. Sometimes the work related excess seems to take over. We need bigger office, storage & garage space in a bad way
I'd stay put if I were you. It won't be long before those boys will want their own rooms or use one for a computer room when they're older. As they get older and friends come to hangout - you'll be glad to have that extra space!
I was thinking the exact same thing!! we have a little under 2500 SF, and we use every square inch!!!
We only have about 1400 (plus a double garage). One kid is out of the house - I feel like I can breathe again!!! Have put some stuff in the empty room - but scared to do too much for fear he might come home again......not that would be such a bad thing ( I really miss him!) but the extra space is so nice!
That was us with 2600 sq ft. We didn't even use the whole house. :? NOW the garage and shed were packed to the gills. I've said next time we need about 2000 sq ft (2 offices @ home plus all my PB over sized furniture) AND an airplane hanger for all of our (DH"s) CRAP.
We have 3300 sf just for the 2 of us, and we seem to use it all! 2 offices in home, though. We have our exercise equipment in the guest room suite so every room gets used every day. We could downsize if we didn't care about guest space, but we do. (Family coming to visit this weekend! :hurray We also consider that this is not just our home, it's our office too.
http://raleigh.craigslist.org/rfs/633203979.html This same house was listed at $345,000 on 2/25. I wish...
Our house is 2400 sq ft. w/4 of us. Once the girls leave home, I won't even go upstairs...... We do need about a 4 car garage minimum, because my 2 car garage is full of DH's toys...uggg....if we ever move out of our current home, I'm going to build about a 2000 sqft 1 story w/a full basement and minimum 4 car garage and another in ground pool. I figure the older I get the less I'm going to like going up those stairs, plus in 7 years both the girls will be out of the house, so we don't need all that upstairs. I do love my house though....
8.4 acres! I found some land in Four Oaks 8 acres for 120k. 5 acres was cleared already. Wish it wasn't. :? The deer need some place to hide.

opinions/advice I'm new to this group so in my search I thought this might be the best place to post this question. Looking to move to the Clayton area. My husband works in Cary. I have no sense of direction so any advice is much appreciated. We took a ride this weekend. Does anyone have any knowledge of Horseman's Run subdivision which is off of Buffalo Road? We also drove by a house for sale in Silverstone Subdivision which is off of Norris Road (but some of the houses/yards looked like they did not get much attention, unkept) Any advice/opinions on which zip codes to search in for the easiest commute to Cary would be appreciated. Schools and family friendly important because we have a 3 yr old and a 14 year old. I'm a SAHM and want to keep it that way so we want to be conservative and stay under $160,000. Thanks again for any input!
Hello everyone, I am thinking about selling my house later this summer. I think I am going to try to do it on my own, with that being said, what the best way to find out what to sell it for? If I call a realtor will they come out and give me a price, I would assume I would pay for that? Or does some other type of company in the area do that? Thanks for any advise.
