FYI....we got our mail that was held while we were on vacation. In it was a letter addressed to "resident" from the Dept. of Transportation. I am very glad I opened it because there was a $5 bill inside! It is a token of appreciation for answering their survey questions when they call. If you get an envelope like this, open it before chucking it! Normally, I "file 13" all the junk mail without opening the envelopes. I will open them now, that's for sure!
Neither did I! The letter explains that the survey is regarding traffic and traveling. BTW this is the US DOT.
their just letting you think their giving you the five dollars. In reality wouldn't the five be yours anyway if you pay taxes etc?
I would be cautious, that definitely does not sound like the DOT! Might be a phishing scheme. If it is the DOT, what the hell are they doing with my tax dollars? They already got you to fill out the fricken survey. Usually if you are going to bribe people into doing a survey you bribe them up front.
I haven't filled out the survey yet. It will be a telephone survey later in the week, according the letter. The website for more info is www.fhwa.dot.gov/policy/ohpi/nhts/n...ing of roads, highways, bus and rail systems.
They might want to keep their $5 and not call me because if they want my opinion I will definitely give it to them, but they might not like it.
