Anyone know of a good Pediatrician that doesn't push vaccines?

  1. I am looking a Ped that doesn't push vaccines. Do you know of any in the area or surrounding area? Does anyone know of a holistic Pediatrician as well?

I am not going to get into debates about vaccines so any of those replies will be ignored! Everyone has a right to their own beliefs.

Jeffers and Mann in Clayton are good. They will tell you what is out there, etc but its up to us to make that choice. No pressure.

How does it work when it is time for school? i thought all the kids have to have their shots to go to school? Can they be exempt for religious reasons?

If that's so, are they also exempt from the lawsuits brought by the parents of the children who contract whooping cough, polio, measles, mumps, rubella and chicken pox?

And all this time I thought the kids were all protected! wow - I just thought it was new immigrants who didn't get the kids shots.....
Don't mean to be hard here but I thought it was a law.....
Hard to believe in this day and age that people think so different. But in all seriousness didn't God guide the hand of those that invented the vaccines?

THis is news to me - i am curious as to the beliefs behinds it - you can pm me - to avoid hulabaloo.

I thought the same thing. How do they go to school with out shots? My dd Dr pushed the chickenpox shot I didn't want her to have it and didn't do it but I thought the others they had to have?

I'm with you there. What right does someone else have to endanger other people's children. If you homeschool, fine. But children catch things from each other. :?

nope, I don't remember the specifics maybe someone else does, if not I will try to find it later tonight, but my understanding is that all kids are guranteed a free education even those without shots due to religious purposes. I also think alot of parents are opting out because of the link to autism..

    Lovely!

I'm not going to get drawn into a debate about vaccines, because I am not sold on some of them. But for the major ones that have been used for ages, I just don't see a good reason not to do it. But that's my opinion, obviously the OP's is different. And that's fine, I guess, if you can live with the chance you may inadvertantly give someone else a fatal illness. Chicken pox can kill too, in rare cases.

Actually, Raleigh Pediatrics does insist on vaccines. My daughter is a patient there. Here is a quote from their website under "office policies."

"Immunizations are the cornerstone of pediatric medicine and have changed the landscape of medicine in the 20th century. Raleigh Pediatrics follows the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Centers for Disease Control. We feel very strongly that immunizations are one of the most important medical services we can offer your child. We welcome the opportunity to discuss any questions or concerns you may have; however, if after thorough education, immunizations are refused, your physician will ask you to find a provider with an alternative philosophy."

Just for the record - I agree with them.

Fallacy here... how would they sue for another parent not vaxing their kid if they too did not vax theirs?

well, my nephew didn't have all his shots. He went for the first couple of weeks and when the school found out he didn't have them all, they sent him home and would not let him come back until his mom showed proof he had them . This was 4 or 5 years ago, but I didn't know you could go to school without them now.

Nowadays you could file suit. With autism being linked to mercury - or was that disproven? Anyways, my kids my choice. I vax, but not all of them and I do a delayed schedule.

I wouldn't say disproven, just denied by the drug companies and the FDA. That same FDA that warned pregnant women against eating to much fish because of the danger of mercury, but said it was fine for pharmaceutical companies to use mercury as a preservative in vaccines. I believe they have stopped using it now, but it's probably still a good idea to get your vaccines one at a time.

Yeah, I just don't like all that stuff dumped in them at once.
