Ok I went to photo bucket and downloaded two photo's of something and I want to share but I can't see where I can download it here to do that. Anyone help me out with that? Sheri:banghead:
Right click on the picture, select copy image location. Then in the message you want to post the picture in, select that little picture postcard icon, click in the dialog box one time, hit control + V, and your picture should appear.
This forum doesn't support file attachment, so here's how i'd suggest going about it: www.imageshack.us Find the file(s) on your computer, click "host it!" once its done uploading, copy the text out of the boxes next to "Thumbnail for forums(1)", or "Hotlink for forums(1)". the difference between hotlink and thumbnail is that the thumbnail bbcode will give you a tiny picture that users will click on to see the full size, Hotlink will just be the fullsize wrapped in a link back to imageshack.us Thumbnail example:
oh yeah! Grandma brings up a good point, if the images are already hosted on photobucket, go back to where you found them and use her suggestion (under firefox)
In Photo Bucket, go to the picture and then click on where it says HTML Code. It should show "copied" right away. That means the code has been copied. Then go to 4042 and on the big white box where you normally enter text you will see two lines of items above. The first line starts with "Fonts", etc. On the second line go to the fifth item from the right (looks like an upside down envelope) and click on it. It will bring up a box that starts with an "http", make sure to delete everything in that line then click on that line, right click your mouse and click on paste. The code from Photo Bucket should appear in the space. Click on "Preview Post" at the bottom of the screen to see if your image shows up. If not PM me and I will walk you step by step. It really is easy once you get the hang of it. You can also make an image smaller or enlarge it before posting. Good Luck, Sherry
Yep, Grandma is always correct! Sheri, try KDs's suggestion and see if it works. I have had trouble with it before but she is very smart. Sherry
No, it is not more trouble, just sounds like it. Let me Post one real quick to show you that once you have it down it is so simple. It is just understanding it to begin with. Sherry
:mrgreen:nope can't figure it out, to bad I wanted to share it. I just don't have the patients for something like that. Should have a easier way for people like me to share photo's. Sheri
KDs and me goofing off. Made a mistake on my instructions to you. It IS NOT THE HTML CODE, it is the IMG CODE that you need to click on. Sherry
It might be that I'm hungry and have a headache that I can't figure it out lol If you can post them it would save me the trouble
We had a good time that day, for sure! That's why I right-click on the picture, so I don't have to remember which code to click on - I can remember "copy image location" and that's the same for any picture that's on the internet, anywhere. We're both talking about the same icon - I see where you get the upside down envelope, but it really is a picture postcard - what looks like the flap is supposed to represent mountains in a scenic view, and I think the little square up in the corner represents a stamp, although it would really be on the other side, with the address and the message. After I click on that icon and the dialog box opens, then I just hit control-V and the image location replaces the text that was already highlighted in the box, then just click OK and there you have it. I don't click inside the dialog box at all.
Deleted pics because of size. See pics below. The pictures are really big so I should have gone to edit under Photobucket and reduced the size. I will show you how to do that once you get this part down. Okay, so I went to your Photobucket account and saw the two pictures. Under each picture you will see the following: Email & IM Direct Link HTML Code IMG Code Just put your cursor over the IMG Code and click. It should show you that it is copied, but remember that only stays up for a second. Now you have captured the code to use on websites. Then click on this picture above and it will bring up a box. In that box delete what is highlighted, put your cursor in it, right click and click on Paste. That code should show up on the area where you normally type text. Once you get the hang of it, it really is easy. KDs told you another way to do it because we have several ways of doing it. Always click on Preview Post at the bottom of the page to make sure it shows up like you want it too. Sherry
I'm going to try one of my own here. When you right click on the picture, a list of things comes up in a dialog box. Copy image location is about halfway down.
good lord that is big lol. Thanks, I have to go and eat something to get this headache gone, plus we have another storm coming and I need to shut off the computer. I will have to try this tomorrow. Thanks again for all your help guys! sheri
Aww, those pictures are so cute! As Sherry mentioned, there are several different ways to get the same result. Nevilock mentioned another image hosting site that is good for just temporarily putting up your pictures, too.
Ok, I got to work today and run up to my old job and I hope to be home around 8 I hope lol, so don't know if I will be on or not.. The more I look at the photo's makes me wonder how in the world am I going to wait till the 1st of the month for the little guy lol. Sheri
I will be on tonight so if you need some help we can do it together. They are wonderful pictures. Sherry
