Ok, My house is clean, really! We don't leave any food out. All of a sudden we have flys in every room. Is there any trick to getting rid of them?

Give your kids each a flyswatter and tell them whoever kills the most gets a prize. LOL

    seriously! Family entertainment.

OK, I like that idea, it might be worth a try but I was hoping for something with a little less carnage!

I have the same problem, I can not figure out where they are coming from, but I swear twenty of them wait for the door to open and zoom in.
I have found an awesome spray from Lowe's.
It's called Home Pest with germ killer, in a blue bottle.
    it works great!!!
    Good Luck

okay bear with me, I am going to try to explain this the best that I can. Take a gallon ziplock bag and fill about halfway with water. Close it up getting all the air out. Tape the zip part. Turn the bag so that it is a cone shape. Hang it up (make sure that it looks like a cone). The flies will think it is a hornet's nest and stay away. We did this in the garage and never had a problem with flies after that. We used a coat hanger to hang it.

I have a friend who swears by this method too. Never tried it myself.

My lab is terrified of the fly swatter although she has NEVER been touched with it. She just hates loud noises (the smack when you whack the fly).

Fly strips or fly swatter. I think they mate quickly!

And what will you get? ...lol

Seriously, can my kitty come over and play, she loves flies!

Ok, more seriously, Hair Spray! Stiffens up their wings and they can't fly!

Wife says it is due to all the moisture out doors, I don't know if she is right but we were invaded last weekend. Went crazy with the flyswatter and at best we get one or two a day now.

Just the same she got the poison to take them out, or possibly me, if they come back.

We've had more than usual lately too. The cats usually dispatch them pretty quickly.

Get yourself one of these. you might have to shrink it a bit, but blows flies down like a champ. Good for slowing most air invasions.

I know the smell is terrible but moth balls keep them away also. I had a problem with my outside trash can. took a pair of knee highs and put moth balls in it and tied it to the middle handle then tossed it in! (it hangs about 6in down) This way when the garbage people pick up the trash it just falls back into place. If you put it on the silver handles they take them off because it gets in the way on the lift. Anyway! I put moth balls around the house to repel snakes and it works on the flies also!

Keep a big bottle of Windex (original formula works best) handy and when they land in the windows, spray the little suckers good. They die very quickly!

OK, Great ideas from all! If my house is still standing after trying them I will let you know what works best! Honestly, I will try the cone thing it may be the least invasive strategy.

And Ken hasn't even weighed in with his usual remedy for pests of all kinds - Napalm!
