Has anyone used Carfix over on 40/42...I am going there in the morning to get a few things done.

 

There are at least a couple of Carfix threads on here. Some people like them a lot. I thought they tried to sell me stuff I didn't need.

I have a coupon in the clipppers so I wanna use that and thats it...nothing more I am such a softie..I hope they don't try anything.

 

That's exactly why I went in there - I had a coupon for a cheap oil change, and they gave me a list of some $850 worth of stuff they said I needed done. I think that was well over a year ago, I haven't had most of that stuff done yet, and the car is still running fine. Forewarned is forearmed.

 

After you told me that there were several threads and I went back to read some...I did find your post that you just now told me about. Now I am feeling uneasy about the whole thing.

I just want to get my oil change and get all my 4 tires rotate...where can i go to do this cheap.

 

If you go in there determined to get only the services you want, and not to let them talk you into anything else, you'll probably be fine.

As soon as you check in there, tell them you are not authorizing them to do anything else, or look at anything else. Just the oil change and the tire rotation. Tell them not to check filters, or fluids (aside from topping off the windshield wiper fluid as a courtesy). Just be firm and upfront with them. You're not going to be sold on anything else.
