Stephenson's bbq on hwy 50. They have a family style dinner buffet, they bring everything to you and as much as you need. The food is wonderful and the price isn't bad either, I think it is around $9.00 per person. Kids are maybe $5. Well worth it.
If you go on a Monday night it's kids night at Buffalo Wild Wings. I love that place and my son loves Mimi the clown that they have every Monday!!
Just hit up BWW last night...the lines for the clown can get long for the face painting and balloon animals so I suggest getting there early (I think it starts at 5) although she's pretty quick so it's usually not too bad.
For my preferences, I would never call BWW a relaxing place, particularly when the clown is there. Even on a slow night, you have to yell to talk to the person next to you. It's a great place for what it is, but I can't choose it for a relaxing meal. YMMV.
Never said it was a relaxing place and OP didn't ask for one, but the OP was looking for a family place for 8 people with kids ranging from 3-12. I'm pretty sure they can handle a little craziness.
I haven't been to Holt's Lake for a few years but they used to have a private room(s-?) and you could order family style. I don't know if they'd do it for only 8 people but I do know you could definitely relax (and get fatter) there.
Yep, she did say relax. Sorry! I guess she'd have to define "relax" since it will be a party of 8 with four kids ranging from 3-12 is all I'm saying. I just mentioned BWW because the clown is a welcome distraction for the kids while waiting for the food. Hence, the adults could relax and still have the kids in sight. But it's not for everyone so they'd probably have to check it out before hand to see.
