For the past couple months I've been trying to find homes for my in laws two cats and kittens. I've found homes for several of the kittens through 4042.com and craigslist. I've put off my father in law taking them to the spca or down a dirt road as long as I could....he has put his foot down and this week is it. They are going to a center in Smithfield either Thursday or early next week. I begged them to give me some more time to find them a good home. I have this week. I need help placing one more kitten (His hair is shorter now. It looks like it's a little long in the picture but he's grown a lot in a month)

The center they plan to take them to will euthanize them if they are not adopted. Does anyone know of any other options? TIA

Thanks LJK....Most of the local places on that list I've already checked out and they said they were full or didn't take personal pets. I'll keep trying though.

OMG!!! So freaking cute. You know.... your favorite kindergarten student said the Claritin D was actually working well for him at Grandma's.... No... stop Cleo. You had cats before and the kid was miserable, no matter what elixer he was on. After awhile, the cat dander surely overcame the Claritin D, Allegra D, and Zyrtec.... Ohh, but they're so cute!!! Maybe if he took it at the same time, every day, and stayed on top of it... No Cleo... STOP!!!!!

I KNOW! I can't decide which one I would choose to torture my son with, maybe the tabby? Is he part-dog? I love a good male tabby that thinks he is a dog.

That's how both of mine were, too. I would not own any other kind of cat.

Update...we have 1 male kitten (short hair).

Both moms are still available! Both momma cats think they are dogs sometimes we think. They roll over on command and one will stand on two legs for food.

    :):):)

Thank you so much for those who have sent emails and posted links to help!

I've been able to find homes for the kittens and pacify the inlaws for a while. But I can't believe how hard it is to find homes for cats!!! Once they pass that cute kitten stage they are over the hill and no one wants ya! :? All of the no kill shelters are full.

I haven't gone back to re-read the thread, but have they had the momma fixed so you aren't stuck like this again?

I had to tell somebody last night to get his dang dog fixed. He thought he might want to breed it one time before he had it done. I said WHY??? Do you have any idea how many animals have to be put to sleep every day?? I may have offended him, but I don't really care. My new pup is being fixed ASAP!

    Hey rc sweetie~

Can you post a pix of the ones remaining? Maybe a *new* pix (and bump the thread) will help...

They took the mom of the "momma cats" as a stray. She was abandoned at their home when they bought it. They had never owned or really were "cat people" I guess you could say. Then the stray abandoned her kittens. They took care of the Runt and Fluffy and they stuck to my inlaws like glue and they ended up taking in another stray as well. Even to this day I have to tell them NO they are your pets. Just because you took their mother in as a stray doesn't mean that they aren't your pets...you've raised them since birth for over a year!!! :banghead: They know that, I just don't know what thought process is. I guess they are afraid of getting attached or something. But then the clinic was announced. I'm trying (keep your fingers crossed) to hold out on shelter drop offs or get them rehomed/adopted at least until the clinic. Then maybe if they still have them they will get them fixed. They asked me to take the cats and I agreed. :hurray:But in the meantime if a great home becomes available they are gone.

This is Runt. She was named Runt because she was the smallest of her brothers and sisters.

And this is Fluffy. All of her kittens very long haired. Both cats are sweet natured and loving with adults, kids, and very playful. I'll try to get updated pictures this weekend.

And Frogger! Buddy is still living mostly under my deck. We hear him moving under there all the time and he runs out there is too much going on the back yard. I've STILL never been able to get my hands on him!

Thanks, rc, for the Buddy update. I'll have to come over and coax him out. Maybe this weekend? PM me!
