I recently moved to North Carolina and I am in need of a basic physician. I am young and healthy, so the fact that I haven't been to the doctor in over a year does not worry me, but I am now looking for a good doctor for me. Like I said, I'm young, and I'm a teacher so I'd need a doctor who allows late appointments. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know! Thanks in advance! :)

Horizon Family 359-1011, open until 5:30 weekdays. Great doctors there! Also, do a search on this forum, lots more recommended on here as well.

Benson Area Medical Center. Dr. Lapinzkes(sp) I can never spell his name right. He is awesome though. DH, myself and 2 kids all go to him.

I second this fella! If my kids didn't go to Dr. Maynard they would see him if I had my choice. Ma & Pa see Dr. Pinski (what my daddy calls him) and love him.

I love me some Maynard

I'm so sad that Dr. Lewis is gone.

My wife started going to Dr. Meehan over at the intersection of Ameliah Church and Shotwell. She loves going to him. Horizon Family got to be too impersonal.

Horizon was too impersonal? Really? Wow, that's one of the reasons I love them over there, they know my whole family by name, always ask how the family's doing, remember the history of us all when we're there, etc... Alll 5 of us go there, between the 2 originall doctors, haven't met the new dr, Dr Dawkins, but hear he's nice too. Sometimes the office staff behind the counter aren't the friendliest, but I don't go there to see them, so that doesn't bother me too much. And I've never had a problem with them, they could just smile more...
