i reallly need to know - i now have a cat or rather Kiddo has a cat.... I am not a cat person, i know nothing of cats and kittens. A Kitten is a baby cat - I got that much, but that's about it. And Kiddo thinks it's a boy. Great. I want to get it fixed ASAP. Dern thing likes me too. Sleeps on my head if I let it. It has a personality disorder, though. It thinks it's a dog. Comes running to greet you when you come home. Goes running to get a cookie when the dogs get their treats. It thinks it is time to wake up the first time the alarm goes off. It has no concept of a snooze button. dumb cat. it sounds like a motorboat, guess it's happy? It's really cute and I like it - but don't tell Kiddo.
Any new info on this? Primarily, if you have to live in Wake County to take advantage of the low rates? Thanks!!
I did my cat Izzy through SNAP last year, I brought her in as a female and took him home as a nuetered male. I guess he was so young I could not see his family jewels under his fur so I thought he was a she.
I checked the calendar on the Wake SPCA site and they don't have it listed as an event. Is this still going to happen???
It is still aimed to open mid August. It will be a mobile unit on the SPCA property. They have already cleared the land and the unit should be delivered soon. They planned on taking appoinments starting next week. If hear dates I will tell you. I asked the vet (who will own it) how it was going and she said all was well.... so no major delays that I know about. And from what I have heard it is open to all counties. I have not seen that in writing yet, but that is what they told me.
As soon as you get some news I'd love to know it. I want to take little mama in and end her puppy/whore years. I ain't doing that chit no mo!
Should be just in time for my little pup too. As much as the puppy visits have cost so far, I gotta save some somewhere. :?
That is great! I've agreed to take the kittens that they want to keep for a snip or fix! We ain't gonna do this again either!! 8)
Does anyone know if there is any update yet on this clinic? I went to the spca of Wake website, but could not find anything....We adopted a new little kitty (was a stray) and I don't want more little ones anytime soon...
You know if you get a little taken off the bottom, you won't stray and roam the streets at night looking for some strange. And too, your life expectancy will increase exponentially just by cutting down your roaming!
I talked to them yesterday. It is a modular building. The land is ready, and it is completed being build off site and it transit to the shelter. There was a power line problem (it was supposed to be delivered today) so that is slowing it down. They will probably just do in house for a week or two to work out the admin bugs etc.. they dont want to announce it until the doors are open to the public. So keep little miss priss away from the gentlemen for another few weeks!!:lol: And I double checked if there was a Wake county only clause and they said no restrictions what so ever, if it can breed they will take care of it! LOL
Thank you so much fur the update.. I appreciate it. Keeping the gentlemen away is going to be hard to do being that she is such a cutie with the most incredible BLUE eyes I have ever seen on a cat.
I think that's great that they're offering the s and n clinic. Too bad we don't intend to have our new little guy fixed. We're actually considering studding him. Mike
The only reason we're considering it is because as we understand it, Chihuahua's of his color are rare. We'd only deal with a reputable, licened breeder and not some "puppy mill" individual. If there's no interest, he's getting fixed. Mike
I respect that everyone has their own opinion.... I just ask that you contact some local chihuahua rescue groups and ask them about the unwanted Chihuahua's in the area, and get a feel for if there is a market. I just got a full blooded mom and 2 newborn baby Chi's dumped in a box.... 3 months ago we got two full blooded pups another family was trying to sell. (but they each had a hernia and were discarded). I personally do not think we are hurting for Chihuahua's. (no matter what color they are) But again, I am against any breeding of any domestic animal until we find homes for the ones we have, so I am biased and will nicely shut up.
 Down girl! Seriously, I was at the PetsMart in Cary yesterday and there was a rescue group (Heaven and Earth) there with probably a dozen or so small breed dogs in foster care, all waiting to be adopted. They had 2 full blooded Pomeranians, 2 Dachshunds, etc. I have to agree with LJK, there are more than enough small dogs already looking for homes to even think about bringing more into the world. Besides, snipping your little fella is supposed to help him live longer and make him a better pet!
