Since next week seems to be better for folks, I'll put something out on Sunday as to when for next week. Like I said, I grill out some hotdogs, we'll have some watermelon, desserts, etc. Just hang out and meet each other. It is b/c of meeting someone on the 40/42 forum that my son has a really good friend now. They are SO alike! So, maybe all of us can enjoy some fun and who knows, maybe some friendships will form....kids and adults. And you have no idea what it's like(well, guess you all do--LOL) to talk to kids all day long. It will be nice fo rsome adult conversation that doesn't involve the phrase.."mom, ____ spill this or hit that." I'll write something up Sudnay w/ some more details. Got to run. Stephanie--mom to 7
Ugh! I wish this summer didn't turn out the way it did! Well, actually, it ended up being good, because it went by fast, and I was afraid it would drag...but I didn't get to do half of what I wanted...Unfortunately I probably won't be able to do anything next week with the playgroup, since it's the last week before school starts, I'll be busy getting things ready for school, and making sure things are set at the office. Because once the little one is at MMO, I won't have my sitter anymore and I'll be back at home most of the time. I might try to make it to the park this Friday morning though, I see some of you are going to be at Lake Benson this Friday at 9, is that right? Brea, I've met you before, so I'll be looking for you if I do go. It looks like it's supposed to be nice the rest of the week, so it's a good time to go. Not looking nice today, so I'm concentrating on getting my housework done today since I'm home. As long as there's no drama on 4042 today! Sure hope I get some mail from the school today!!
No, don't do housework. Then I will feel like I have to. Let's just be lazy. I hope to be at the park. I do not know anyone so I will just wander around looking confused. I am good at that.
I have shoulder length brown hair and my dd has long brown hair. Just walk in and yell "who's from 4042?"
I think I will say," Can I get a shout out from Johnston County. Where my dawgs at?" But then you ladies might hide from me. lol
OMG! That would be hilarious! I double dawg dare ya! I've told my kids if they help me clean today, there's a good chance we'll go to the park on Friday. They're doing ok, but of course, I have to keep reminding them. I'm also trying to potty train my little one, and that is not going well at all!! ugh! I put him on the potty, he says no, no, no! then 10 minutes later he pees on the floor (I'm not putting diapers on him today, trying the diego undies, thought maybe that would work - nope!)
We are living the same life, just in different houses. Right down to the Diego undies. I bought mine the seat that fits onto the toilet because the talking/singing potty I invested in just wasn't doing it for him. He actually likes to sit on it which is a good sign. He likes to put paper in it and to flush. Then he gets up and pees on the floor. It is like having a puppy. My kids are each 8 years apart. I have little memory of potty training the other two. I do remember that it was not easy at first. I also know that one day they just started doing it on their own. So I am not really trying too hard with this one. I figure it just makes extra work. I keep reminding myself he will not pee on the floor forever. I hope.
Shoot. I can't make it. I have to go to DMV at 8 on New Bern Ave. Since I will already be out there, I am gonna hit Triangle Mall. Hopefully next week will be better.
I'm still planning on being there in the morning. Anyone else? By the way, once you enter the park and you're coming down the dirt road, there will be a road off to the right with some swings. That's not the playground I go to. Stay to your left and follow the road to the end and it will end in the parking area right in front of the other playground. There is a big picnic shelter there too. That's the playground where I will be! Hope to see some of you there and maybe meet some new people!
Swimming/ playing group I know I said I'd get this out on Sunday, but well...the day escaped me. Sorry for the delay. Wanted to have this early in the week but still working out kinks w/ the school and registering my child for kindergarten. HOping to have most of that worked out tomorrow. So, anyone up for Thursday? Here goes: Thursday at 11:00am at Southills. We have a 27' above ground pool. We do have some extra life jackets but just in case your kids can't swim or touch, please do bring something for them. I have spares but don't have a bunch of spares. I think I have 3 extra life jackets, in different sizes. We have plenty of towels and stuff like that. We also have a swingset next to the pool as well as a trampoline. And, in case of rain, the kids could play inside just as well. I don't mind. I figured we'd cook out some hotdogs once everyone arrives. If folks could bring a dessert to share, that would be wonderful. I know it is getting hectic since school is starting so let me know if you might be able to make it or not so I can plan for a few people. Oh, I have a dog but he's almost 11 years old and VERY kid friendly. Take care, Stephanie--mom to 7
I'll be there with my 3 yr old son as well.Do you want just desserts or can I bring chips or something else that might help more? I have extra lifejackets for 50 lbs and under if anyone needs one. Just let me know. ---Rachael
I have hotdogs, hotdog buns, condiments, drinks, watermelon(buying it the day before), cupcakes. I think chips would also be great to bring or any sides like that you can think of. I'll also have homemade macoroni salad but not sure all kids will like that. Mine do but I swear mine would it the bark off of a tree--LOL. I'm sure whatever anyone brings, will get eaten. My address is 305 Zachary Way. If you all need directions, please let me know. We live in Southills Subdivision (most know it as the subdivision across from Pleasant Woods). Can't wait to meet some of you and the kiddos!!! Should be fun. stephanie--mom to 7
