My 11 y.o.son's BMX style bike was stolen/borrowed out of our yard in Cedar Cove subdivision last evening. No, it was not "secured", but it was in our yard and leaning up against the side of the house. If your child or teen acquired a black and white bike with the "trick" bars on the front, please return it to my yard or call me at 919-300-1070. I will come and pick it up. I have not called the cops yet and if the bike is returned today, I will not. PS- Cedar Cove is on 210 HWY near Reedy Creek gas station.
UPDATE on Stolen Bike We got the bike back! My daughter was driving through one of the adjoining neighborhoods and low and behold, there was the bike. A couple of younger teens were riding around on it. When she confronted them about the bike, they stated that they had "found' it. She took the bike and told them that they were lucky that she didn't call the police on them. She said she could actually hear the kid's heart pounding when he put the bike in the trunk. So anyways......
I would have called the cops - if they'd steal that bike, they would steal another - or something else. I live near you - I'll bet anything I saw that bike - it was from a distance of about 120 feet. A a few days ago my DH said "Did you notice some kid dressed in black riding up and down the street on a black bike going slow enough to drag his feet and checking out all of the houses? If I didn't have an appointment, I would have checked him out longer." I told him that I was out rinsing out the bird bath and saw what sounded like the same person on a bike with someone who was walking alongside really taking their time and looking at each home - I thought they might be looking for a pet - but they weren't calling out to any. I didn't notice what they were wearing - I'd heard the phone ringing and headed inside to catch it and when I returned back outside they were out of sight.
They need to be careful, if they mess with my stuff, they'll wish the law got to them first. No bs either:evil:
Yea, we invested in a bike chain (and started locking our car doors, just to be safe). We have three dogs. One of which would eat someone alive if they came through the door or into the backyard. So if they know what's good, they won't come back!
