I wonder if anyone has used a plastic surgeon in the Triangle area. I am looking for someone to do an upper arm lift and a tummy tuck. If you have used someone and liked them or hated them I'd love the feedback. If you'd like to write to try to convince me I should just be happy with the saggy skin after a 100 pound weight loss, type it and then hit the delete key.

Girl, let me check around the 'hood. If it has not been tucked, plucked, sucked, advanced or enlarged a person must either be new to our area or just an old hippie...:jester: Will get back to you after I ask around.

    How funny and great!

Congrats! My surgeon is in the Greenville area and he recommends a PS in that area. Is that too far away for you?

I would NOT go to Viserage in Cary - they recently changed their name to that. . .I want to them and know two other people who did and were not pleased with results. . .we all had different procedures. One of them told me they keep changing their name to shake off image problems - I'd believe it.

    Congrats on the weight loss!:hurray:

I can't remember the name but supposedly there is one in Raleigh near WakeMed that is really good.
I will see if I can look them up.

I have more weight to lose before I can even think of that yet.

Dr Richard Carlino is the best! I had a breast reduction, and i think he did a good job.

He is not the most bubbly person you will ever meet but he is very good at what he does. He is located across from Rex Hospital.

Congrats on the weight loss! I have a friend that worked at Raleigh Plastic Surgery - and she always talked how great they were. They are located on Six Forks, down past the hosp.

Girl, when I looked into it my sister who is a Practitioner recommended several down there. I can't remember their names now, but I do remember there is an awesome after care place down there as well.

I highly recommend Dr. Christopher Morea off of Lead Mine Rd. He is an excellent surgeon and is a teaching surgeon. I had some plastic surgery done with him and have been extremely pleased with the results. I did TONS of research for over a year before deciding, so trust me when I tell you I have checked into the background of almost every surgeon in the Raleigh and surrounding areas. He had 3 additional years of training in aestetic plastic surgery. Most plastic surgeons are not trained in aestetics, they are trained in how to do basic plastic surgery that involves accident patients. So for those 3 years he studied how to sculpt the body, etc. Much like an artist. He is exceptional.

    Good luck!!

I'd recommend either Dr Richard Carlino or Dr Brett High. Both are great surgeons.

One of my DH's coworkers lost 120 lbs. in 1 year. She said all she did was stop eating crap and started eating healthy foods and started walking everyday. I couldn't believe the before and after pics she showed me, it was incredible. Anyway, she told me that she made up her mind that she was tired of being overweight, that she had been that way the majority of her life (she's 38), so she said a year ago she stopped eating out, except healthy alternatives and started cooking lean meats and lots of veggies. She didn't low carb either, just made better choices. She also said she started walking a couple of days a week for 30 mins. and is now up to 5-6 days a week for an hour. Her key was she was in the correct mindset.

    Thank you

Thanks to all who chimed in (and to those who didn't). I will check out these docs - I plan to start interviewing folks when I get back next week from moving my daughter into her dorm. If all goes well, I'd like to do the surgery sometime between Nov and Feb. Like the last writer, I lost the weight by making better food choices and slowly increasing my exercise frequency and intensity. I don't feel like I'm at my target weight yet, but I think if I have a target surgery date, maybe I'll make the last 10 pounds or so by then. For those of you trying to lose Rex Wellness at White Oak has a Healthy Way program that I enjoyed and great workout facilities. I really like the fact the people of all ages and sizes work out there and some of the trainers (Learie in particular) will really work with you to help you get started and stay motiviated. Thanks again!
