I've been hearing about at home parties where you sell your unwanted gold jewelry, has anyone else heard of them? Or, does anyone know of a place that offers a fair price for gold? I know there are several commercials that advertise "gold for cash" and I have some that I'd like to turn into cash but there is no way I would ever stick my gold in the mailbox!
There are some jewlery stores on Main St, Clayton that have signs up saying the buy gold. I'd rather do it in person too. I sold some old broken stuff a few years ago to Pittman, I believe. I wish I'd have held on to it, worth a lot more now. 8)
I just did a quick ebay search for scrap gold and came across this auction. http://cgi.ebay.com/Estate-Dental-G...40:1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14#ebayphotohosting YUCK! :ack:
yep, I was invited to one a couple of weeks ago, however I did not go. But I assume its someone local. I will see if I can find the name of the person that did my friends show..
yes, there are more signs on main street that state "we buy gold" than anything else. just take your gold down main street and you can get several offers. then take the best offer. cash on the spot. one of the jewelers on main street advised now is a great time to sell gold items.
The pawn shop on 42 across from Lowes home improvement buys scrap jewelry. I have dealt with them many times and have always found them very trustworthy.
I have thought about this to get rid of some very broken items that are just really too junky to have repaired again but still 14k GOLD. Anyone have a PRICE per OZ quote?
You can't take the current OZ price and expect to get that amount for your scrap gold. If you do take your gold in your going to be disappionted in what you are offered. There is 1 "unless" ...... bring in a large quantity and you'll get around 10% more per gram. Here's how it works. If you have 5.0 grams of 14KT scrap and gold is $900.00/oz today, then $900.00 divided by 31.1 (Troy Oz) equals $28.9389/gram multiplied by .5833 (14KT) equals $16.88 per gram. $16.88 multiplied by 5.0 grams equals $84.40. Or you have 15.3 grams of 10KT gold scrap. $900 divided by 31.1 (Troy Oz) equals $28.9389 multiplied by .4167 (10KT) equals $12.06 per gram. $12.06 multiplied by 15.3 grams equals $184.52. Dealers have to make a living for the service so expect 20 to 30 percent less than what it's actually worth since they must process it first. Remember too they have a minimum weight their buyers demand, so they may sit on your gold till that weight is met and loose money if it goes down in price.
