Garner Animal control is having a Rabies Clinic Sep 20th from 10-1. Rabies shots are $5 you can get 3yr with current certificate. $10 microchip (cash only)

Yes anyone can go! Sometimes there is a bit of a line, but it goes pretty quickly. Be sure to bring your current rabies certificate if you want a three year, otherwise they will give you a one year. (although it will be the same dose)

Can you just get the microchip? The new pup just had her first rabies a month ago.

    Thanks for the info!!!! :)

Thanks for the post. Our puppy is due for her rabies but she wasn't old enough back in April when we went to Bark Around the Park. Did get her chipped, though. Can we bring cats? (Who knew I'd be excited over a rabies clinic?)

Yes you can bring cats... I would keep them in a carrier if possible, lots of dogs and kids. They will even come to your car at the end to do cats if needed.

Do you have an address for this Garner Animal Control? Or a phone number? This sounds like a plan for my 3 little dogs!

You can call Garner police department and I am sure they can give you more info.

It is being held at Lake Benson Park at 921 Buffaloe Road in Garner.

We called the Garner police dept and got a recording telling us they will get back to us in 24 hours. I guess we shouldnt have waited so long to call for more information about this clinic :/

I have the address, but we have no idea what to expect when we get to this park, as we have never been there before. We live off Cornwallis, by Cleveland Road (technically Clayton, but Garner address), so Garner is pretty much unexplored territory for us. Is there a particular place outdoors that events like this are held? A building we should look for? We are imagining that we may get there, and have to drive around a big park, looking for people with animals to find it.

Does anyone have any more specific information that may keep us from getting lost?

    Thanks!

921 Buffaloe Road (which is actually Aversboro rd further down) You can take Hwy 50 to Timber... (left) then Left on Aversboro... in a minute it will be Buffaloe rd. It is directly after a Lutheran church.

There is an outdoor picnic area on the left at the very end of the driveway!

Let me know if this doesn't make sense!!

You have been most helpful; thanks much for the directions! Wish us luck as we pack the "kids" in the car to make the trip tomorrow morning...!
