i got all of you guys beat. You can make it this way from 40/42 is about 2hrs-2.5hrs depending on traffic.. It is a scenic route, but to me that fastest way there.

Take 40east till you get to the exit for Clinton/Highway 701.
you take 701 all the way into SC where you will connect into Highway 9 which will take you into N. Myrtle beach.

If you want to get to the south part really quick, i think you take the bypass which is hwy 29 i believe. If my memory serves me right, if you take the 2nd exit, it will bring you down the street from Broadway at the Beach

55 is the speedlimit unless you are feeling froggy, but there is hardly any state cops once you get by whiteville

If you mean the "Avista" at N.Myrtle, we have had our companies xmas party there the last 3 years. Its a very nice place, spacious rooms, we've always had rooms that are like little suites, oceanfront. They have a nice bar and restaurant. I would recommend it.

cool - I hate these booking sites and such - of course they only show you the good stuff. Ya never know what you are getting.
Booked one on line in virginia once and it was terrible. I got a good deal since it was off season.

need a place for an old fogegy like me to dance. disco or oldies preferably, but I guess I'll have to learn the whole beach music thing too sometime.....
Someof the club there looked kinda young - or at least younger then me.
