didnot believe this - could it be true? i have a friend who said they new an owner of a gas station and they had talked about going up to 4.75 (sanford area) tomorrow. this is incredulous if that happens. the darn gas in their tank in the ground didn't change price, oil is 100 a barrel, yet it may go up 25% in one day. if this is not price gouging i don't know what is???? everyone stay home this weekend and buy no gas, see what that does. also, the station i filled up at limited to 10 gallons.
Yeah, but you'll burn it all up getting back here, right? Then you're gonna have to pay the higher prices.
I'll stop in Florence or Dillon and fill up before I get back into Heaven, er om NC...lol. I love NC. You don't know what you got until you've been in the "Upstate" for a week. :ack:
My son just got a call from his girlfriend, who was calling from the BP at the corner of 1010 and 50. Gas is $3.57 there now and the attendant told her that at midnight it will be going up to... $4.63!
This mornings NBC national news report wholesale prices goin g up 30% because of the damage Ike MIGHT do!! My sources yesterday told me $.25 agallon and maybe up to a dollar. Even I found that hard to believe.... BUT... looks like Big Oil's going to STICK IT TO US SOME MORE!!!
We moved here from SC. The gas prices are great and I love that there is no state vehicle inspection. Oh, and all the DMV services are conveniently located in one building. But the vehicle property tax is way out of line than what we pay here. Our tax here on our cars is about 10% of what we paid in SC.
Have you ever noticed that the more the media reports the gas is going to go up in price, the more the price actual does increase? Why doesn't it have the same affect when they report gas prices are going down?
Still $3.589 at BJ's as of 7:15am this morning. I noticed the station at Cornwallis/42 didn't have their prices posted this morning. The small station on White Oak Rd before the shopping center was at $3.699. Doesn't appear to be much of a bump in prices yet but there sure are a lot of people out buying it!! The run is on.
I paid $3.99 a gallon for regular at the Fiddle Stix on the corner of 42 and Cornwallis this morning. It looks like the price hike has started already and the hurricane hasn't even hit yet.
I decided to fill up as well, got 16 gallons at the Spirit station on 42 in Clayton. They obviously weren't limiting you to 10 gallons. I don't know why folks insist on freaking out. Nothing has happened yet!
I guess P Diddy will be taking the bus now. Did you all hear where he had grounded his private jet in favor of riding commercial due to gas prices? How can you own a private jet and be concerned with the price of gas?
I havent read thru the whole thread, but has this been posted yet? http://media.myfoxraleigh.com/special/head/Gas_Gauge/index.html
He doesnt own his own jet. He owns a share of one which is basically like a time share. He still gets to use it but it is not at his leisure. He has to book it, when available, as do the other shared owners.
