ok, i'm cynical, so i'll ask: were they trying to sell you anything while you were there?

Nope, I don't think the shop was even open. It really was just a free lunch, and they let me take a to-go for my son, who was doing yardwork.

survey taker: will the psychological effects of the general good will you have towards them now (which you received from their selfless act) cause you to be more or less likely to do business with them in the future?

at the moment i have nothing better to do than this. that'll change in about 10 minutes...

Actually, I had already planned on giving them my oil change business due to their punch card deal and prices, and the owner buffed out a scratch on my van for free when I stopped by one day to have him take a looksie. :)

I know, I know, I know. It's hard to believe there are some really just plain nice folk out there. I guess I've become a little cynical like some others on this board over the years. Bobby at TAG is one of the good guys. I was there one morning listening to him tell his son on the phone how he had forgot and gave his assistant the day off and now he wouldn't see his sons first game of something, can't quite remember what it was, but I could see how it shook him up. This is one really good guy and he deserves our support. As a business member this is the kind of guy that will sponser teams and other things, no questions asked. JMHO.:hurray:

    TAG auto....

I am all about some TAG auto. They did some major engine work on my wife's mini van and it came out great! I didnt make the lunch, but I am sure it was great.

Because he couldn't come up with anything else, little minds think slowly. I'm not a newby, nor a troll, so he can place it where the sun don't shine. He just proved my point, thank you very much.:hurray:

And you love him for this reason? Because he's rude and a name caller to boot. Please explain to me how this creates a situation for love, unless you approve of his rudeness and name calling, which would explain a lot and then you and your lovely man (if that's what he is, which here again could be disputed) could explain how I'm a troll. Let's recap, I'm a senior member, joined in Oct. of 2007 and have consistently posted my opinions on a variety of topics, one in which Hught did not agree with me and therefore sent me a very nasty private message ending it with I will never respond to any of your postings again yada, yada, yada and yes it was a very nasty private message. So are you proud of him now?
So, please give your definition of "Troll" because if I'm one than 100% of those that are posting at this very minute or have been posting on this forum are trolls as well, that would include you as well.

I have a hard time believing that Hught was "nasty" in a PM. We have disagreed vehemently at times, but he has always remained civil and never has sent nasty PM's. :? I hope it was just some sort of misunderstanding.

Well, I'd be glad to share it with you and everyone else on this forum. Basically, I was full of crap (his response to a post I made of all things regarding a fence that was to another poster and no reference whats-so-ever to him) and I'd be responsible for all the deaths of the dogs that would come from the tethering law in Clayton and he hoped I wouldn't be able to sleep at night with the guilt etc. and some other mouthy stuff.

Uh huh, ok then. I thought you meant he'd cussed at you or something by "nasty." My mistake. If I remember the thread, you were pretty condescending and argumentative yourself. 8)

My sentiments exactly when he emailed me that message, therefore I have refrained from posting any type of comment directly to any of his and/or to him for any of his postings, can't say the same for him. I'm not on here to have a hate relationship with someone, state my opinions whether someone agrees with me or not, as does everyone else on here and I'm sure not going to get agreements back from everyone, that's life, I calls'um as I sees'um, like it or not. I think the line is crossed when someone intentionally goes out of their way to be hateful, condescending, rude, childish, egotistical and just plain ugly. If he doesn't like what I have to say he has the option to not respond. JMHO
