Yeah, dude, I know about the different attitude. Clearly, the Seabee's I worked with were more oriented towards a ground assault mode of thinking (and apparently urban assault too at the bar you mentioned) so it made it easier to talk together. Most Seabee's I knew felt about the Navy like the Marines do. Great for transportation to the fight, but then, kindly get out of the way so I can do my stuff. had a CB chief who told me that if I needed some help, to holler. Got into Panama in the Chitre province (Pacific side) and found a village for who we decided to build a one room schoolhouse. Called him and arranged for him and some CB's to come help...they brought pioneering tools, and "borrowed" some stuff from Howard AFB. Chief even had a brass bell "appropriated" from Hueneme and delivered so we could install it to dedicate the school. That's how you build a nation of friendlies. Sailors, I get along with. The Navy is something else. And, thanks for your service. It was am honor to serve with ya.
We yet again agree Hat. I too feel that our American Heroes should be well 'tended to and better supported, which is an area of politics often overlooked or treated as talking points on both sides of the political scale. This has gone on for too long and I can't lay blame on one particular administration or the other. I must admit, not being a veteran, I may fall short in the details concerning vertan benefits and healthcare. I need to do some readin' up on JM and Obama's voting records before I can have an accurate discussion in this area. I do understand that Obama is on the Veterans Affairs Committee, which some have fingerpointed and called a political move from a young Senator with high aspirations. This is one area where, for some reason, McCain has not served. I'll give Obama credit, he chose to serve in that role even though he has no relative understanding of the issues Veterans face. But I don't agree that Mccain has sat on his hands concerning Veterans affairs. Without my redneck lingo gettin' in the way, I'll just post a link that I thought was a good read. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2008/05/mccain_responds_to_obama_on_ve.html Hat, I've said it to you several times now... but Thank You for your service. We are looking at the same thing, just seeing different angles. Take care!
I found an email address for the parks and rec dept, but never recieved a response back. No biggie, I figured it was tightly controlled with the Coast Guard sitting on the premises.
eh, don't worry about the Coasties. My dad is a retired Captain of a training center in CA and my husband was on a cutter down in Miami before we got married. I might even know a few of them since about half of the guys had to go through my dad's place after boot camp and me being the 17 year old that I was flirted with my fair share
Looks like the McCain Campaign is back on and he will attend the debate tonight. Glad he suspended it! Sherry
Glad he suspended it? He changed his mind since Obama did not want to. glad that a man running for president is not afraid to "change" on things!
yes, they either wanted to get with me or wouldn't get near me. Not fun when the rumors went around about me sleeping with half the base because it was not true....I was the base flirt and that was it, but I knew the rumors would happen and I didn't let it get to me since i knew they weren't true.
