She is pathetic and should have her head beat in. That is whats so irritating these days, we have lost accountability in this world. The proper way would be for her to take the punk behind the shed and lay a beat down on him he would never forget and then see if he ever did that again. At least one of the parents made it a point to acknowledge what their kid did was stupid and appologized to the family, not that it helps at all. I would hope those kids are required to pay for medical bills, not their families either, them and if they don't have the money then they can spend their time at the hospital changing bed pans and working it off and then put them in jail.

Let him talk about WV. He's just showing is ignorance. Its obvious what his problem is. His avatar explains it. He enjoys long erect objects. I found this to be a common thread with all male Obama supporters.

If you all never heard banjos playing in WV you must have been living in the eastern panhandle near DC. They were popular down around the coalfields along with mandolins, guitars, and fiddles.

Not sure which coal field or mountain you were on in WV. I grew up listening to Rush, Kiss, Van Halen, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, etc, etc...

I am going to go out on a limb and say that the klansman that showed up to the discussion is a "joke". A poor one.

And Hat, there is really no comparison between legal citizens of a county being unhappy with a group of people that thumb their noses at our laws and a hategroup like the klan.

And this just in - a Johnston County mom and her two small children are injured when an unlicensed operator with a hispanic name runs a stopsign and crashes into her.

Here's one for you, Cleo.... A woman is injured in a rear end collision by a 16 yr old, unlicensed immigrant, totaling the family's almost (4 payments left) paid off 96 Ford F-150, and sending her to the hospital for observation. This caused the family to go thousands of dollars further into debt, causing strain on an already tight budget. Instead of being in school, the 16 year old was coming home from his full time construction job. The woman is my wife and the accident happened less than 100 feet from our home. Here's the kicker. A couple of months later, the idiot did the same thing to someone else 2 blocks from here. He's still driving, I just saw him the other day.

It's interesting Mike, I don't think many of us don't know somebody or haven't experienced for ourselves the toll this is taking on our community.

This family lives right around the corner from me. Well, at least the mother and daughter still do I think.

You're right, Cleo. I think that, in some way, we've all been impacted by this. I don't know anyone that either has been directly involved, or at least knows someone that has been directly involved, in this type of situation were an illegal has caused an accident and killed or injured someone. I go to peoples homes and business's every day and I hear stories every day from all over the Triangle.

Now Now. Y'all are just being insensitive and intolerant. You're using these rare, isolated cases to paint a stereotypical view of all Hispanics. Shame on you for being such racists.

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, sans-serif] Alleged drunk driver kills one, injures ten at event

Juan Campos, 33, purportedly a US citizen from Brownsville, Texas, has made headlines with a spectacular crash that occurred when, allegedly drunk, he fell asleep at the wheel and plowed his car into a bike race inside Mexico near the US border. One bike rider died and ten were injured. Enraged survivors swarmed a police vehicle taking Campos from the scene, attempting to drag him out. Investigators claim that toxicology tests showed that Campos had alcohol in his system, and a female passenger in the Campos vehicle reportedly admitted that she had been drinking with Campos, who has since been charged. Campos himself told reporters at the jail in Spanish that he didn't remember much, but that he had been at a beach and had fallen asleep while driving.

The incident highlights the US epidemic of fatal accidents resulting from impaired Hispanic drivers, most of whom are illegal aliens and thus often unlicensed and without insurance. Hispanic impaired driving far outpaces the problem in other demographic groups; in North Carolina alone, Hispanic DUIs were three times the rate of non-Hispanics in 2005, and the trend is reflected all across the United States.

Some experts have claimed that the DUI problem has roots in Hispanic culture, and some Hispanics themselves claim that driving after a few drinks is "normal." Certainly the large number per capita of macho young males among the illegal alien population has some effect on the numbers, as well as the lawless mentality of people whose very presence in the United States flouts the law.

Like many other aspects of illegal immigration, the toll of illegal alien drunk driving is a "quality of life" issue never factored in to the various economic arguments advanced in favor of open borders. But the real cost has been devastating: whole families have been wiped out, men, women and children killed and the lives of survivors ruined by these heartbreaking, preventable tragedies.

The effect of Hispanic drunk driving is a black eye to the open borders lobby and its corporate and special interest backers, who often respond to attempts to raise awareness with hatebaiting and panic.

In Virginia Beach, Virginia in 2007, drunken driver Alfredo Ramos killed two teenaged girls, Alison Kunhardt, 17, and Tessa Tranchant, 16. When news broke that Ramos had already had three alcohol-related convictions and was also an illegal alien, there was an outcry about a system that could not even deport an illegal alien and proven menace, and that two promising American teens paid with the lives as a result. The injustice of the situation led Fox News host Bill O'Reilly to lead with the story on his program, interviewing David Kunhardt, the grieving father of victim Alison Kunhardt. "Ramos was a known scofflaw," O'Reilly said. "The authorities in your town would not obey the law, defied the law of the land, and somebody has to be held accountable."

The reason Ramos had not been deported before slaying the girls is that like many jurisdictions, Virginia Beach police are not allowed to inquire about a suspect's immigration status. This policy is found nationwide, even in major jurisdictions, and attempts to change it are met by the outspoken opposition of well funded open borders advocacy groups. Many politicians, at least for now, would rather see children die than be called "racists." The Virginia Beach city fathers reacted to the Fox exposure by attempting to spin attention to the tragedy off of illegal immigration and onto awareness about drunk driving in general.

Hispanic drunk driving is one of those issues surrounding illegal immigration where ordinary people carry a heavy burden. Just as with a lower wage scale, lower-quality schools, bankrupted hospitals, teeming prisons and scarce social resources all across the board, corporations are willing to let America decline in pursuit of profit.

Since this Thread is on the Discussion side for unregistered folks to read I would like to state a differing opinion.

As a resident of Johnston County I do not believe in profiling or racism by a Sheriff or their department. I believe an independent review must happen to audit and make sure that the statements made to a reporter do not reflect the practices of Johnston County's Sheriff's Department. It is my hope that the audit does not find any problem within the Department but I do understand that even though that may happen the damage is already done. If I fell within the racial profile of those statements I would never trust this Sheriff's Department.

    My apologies,
    Sherry

Sherry, your post implies that the rest of us are racist. I prefer to be referred to as realistic.

    Thanks -

    Here's the diffenition of a racist: rac·ism
    Pronunciation: \ˈrā-ˌsi-zəm also -ˌshi-\
    Function: noun
    Date: 1933
1 : a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race
2 : racial prejudice or discrimination
    — rac·ist \-sist also -shist\ noun or adjective

I don't hate all Hispanics, just the ones that are here illegally. If I were a racist, I'd hate all those of Hispanic origin, not just the ones that are here illegally. If you'd like to see true racism, look to people like Al Sharpton, The KKK, etc., but very, very few people on this board.
