Psychology is a funny thing! Your mind is such a powerful thing... which is why I try so hard to stay positive during the week. I really believe that I can have a bit of control beyond the eating and the moving if I focus on the good. Next week I bet you'll have a solid loss
I gained 1 pound. Ugh. That is ok I saw it coming, and actually expected to gain more. I did not get any exercise in this week. I was so tired. My stepson's birthday was Friday, so tonight we are having burgers, and of course cake, BUT! I have decided against having the Ice Cream he picked out, being my favorite Mint Chocolate Chip. Grrrrrr:lol::banghead: Thats ok, you only turn 16 once. My stepdaughter is next to turn 16 oh boy, sweet 16 on its way. Plus I have my son, who turns 11 in November! Holidays, Birthdays,...too much temptation for lots of goodies. but HEY! I counted all the points for my lean version of his bday dinner. not bad. Plus I am really motivated to exercise this week. It will come back off, I swear it.:hurray:
BTW - this is what was going on before the meeting ... the speeding police cars/lights in the area... http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/3626393/
Elims & Frame, hang in there. Hopefully from now on out it will be a lot better for us all. I can relate to the birthday issue. We celebrated my son's birthday today...he will be 23 tomorrow. He wanted to save his cake & presents for tomorrow though. I cooked one of his favorite meals tonight....pork loin on the grill, baked beans, stuffed potatoes, and homemade mac n cheese. I ate some of all it but not much. And definately no seconds. It will be interesting to see how I do on Monday.
Elims, I read that...wow! Wonder what the chase was about. Bren, you should think about joining us for a Saturday meeting. It is a neat way to start the weekend. Oh boy those sound like some good birthday muchables. The homemade mac and cheese would have done me in. Well, the party is over, I had one burger, a salad, a small slice of bday cake, and one little scoop of ice cream(sigh, failed that temptation) but I stayed in points, and I do not feel guilty. I was proud, I even pushed away some of my food because I recognized that I was full and stopped. Never done that before:lol: I would normally have eaten until I popped.opcorn::ack: Thanks ya'll for the support!:grouphug:8)
YESS!!! That's wonderful, Frame!!! You made GOOD portion choices, you still allowed yourself to celebrate your son's birthday, you dont feel guilty, and you stopped eating when you were full! That last one is more difficult than it sounds, especially when you know there's food you love sitting right in front of you! Way to go, girl!!! "Bravo" to you!!!
Good luck tonite, Bren! Will be sending positive weight-loss-thoughts your way! (Or should that be 'negative' weight-loss thoughts ... so you'll see that good ol' MINUS sign ... hmm ... )
Hey Bren, Sorry I won't be there. I forgot that I told my friend that I would go with her to the Clayton one tonight. I don't plan on going there from now on but I told her i would go with her every now and then. She just called to see if I was still going. Clayton is a little far for me to go but I have to go see her anyway. Sorry but good luck to us both!
That's fine..thanks for telling me or I would have been looking for you! Good luck and let me know how it goes!! Bren
Congratulations Sassy!! :hurray: I went but didn't stay for the meeting last night. Rhonda and I snuck out and talked in the parking lot for about 30 minutes instead. I know, I know....slack!! But....................I did lose 1.2 pounds last night!! Yippeeeee!! I'm almost at that first star. Rhonda gained .8 last night. She said we have to start doing really good so it will motivate her. So you know I ragged her after our weigh in. Bren
Wow way to go Bren! Thats awesome! My friend has lost almost 11 pounds in 3 weeks! That really made me want to do better. Its been 10 weeks and I have only lost 4.6 pounds. Thats my fault though. I haven't been trying my best. I am all over it this morning though. I packed a great lunch and have had 16 ounces of water so far and its only 7:20am. I WILL GET MY STAR next Monday!! Heck maybe I will get 2! LOL
That's what I like to hear! Get pumped up! Ya know, I've been doing this for about 5 weeks now and still haven't lost 5 pounds. The last time I did this, I lost 5 pounds the first week. That shows you how slack and unmotivated I've been. How did you like the Clayton meeting? I'm thinking about going there on Saturday mornings but I'm just not sure I want to get dressed and be out by 8 or 8:30.
The Clayton meeting was ok. I prefer to go to Hollands though. They had 2 people weighing you in and it seemed like you had to wait in line for a really long time and there weren't that many people in line. Not sure what was going on. Maybe they had a lot of new people joining last night. I may go to clayton every once in a while. Hollands is just a lot closer to me. I doubt I will go to the Saturday meeting. I love to sleep in!
