Frankly I refuse to watch it, just like most nights I refuse to watch the news. Facts can be twisted either way. I figure I will not endure no more than what God thinks I can handle and I will die when he is ready to call me home, so why bother watching something else that will get me all upset or not.. Just live for the moment and do what you can do for yourself and family and leave the rest up to god!

Reading this...you would think the only person in the world that ever protects our rights is Hat. It takes a whole society to protect those rights...somebody has to pay the bill for the military and that is us...the taxpayers. Of course Gen. Patton never went along with the idea of dying for your country....he thought you won by getting someone else to die for theirs.

Hopefully you're not as arrogant as this appears. Maybe you need to acknowledge the rest of American society who protect the right to dissent by helping to foot the bill for this bloated government.

 

Oh puhlease...I'm sure Hat will respond to this in due time, and hey, there have been times when I've thought that Hat was bordering on arrogance, but this is not one of those times. So maybe we should do away with the military? Hey that might solve some economic problems right? Hat was just acknowledging that he was one of the thousands of soliders who are literally defending our rights with his life and not just his wallet.

Please show me where I was whining...just stating fact..taxpayers pay for the military. I also have 2 sons currently in the military. One in Afghanistan as I type this. But I realize that he does it for a paycheck, not community service.

I have never taken any of Hat's Posts as though he was patting himself on the back for his service. When he discusses his service it is usually in relationship to defending our Constitution.

I just received a great bumper sticker: I'm A Constitution Voter". What a powerful statement.
