Santa Claus Poll

How many people on this board believe in a REAL LIFE Santa Claus? I'm not talking about believing in the spirit of Santa, as in the spirit of the season of Christmas... giving gifts, being charitable, etc.

No, please let it be known as to how many grown ups on this board would lay their hand on a Bible, or whatever, and swear there is a real life man, not a family member, known as Santa Claus - who comes to your house and brings you gifts.

If this has been hashed out before is there a need to do it again? We could at least ask if people believe in ghosts since it's more holiday appropriate. :jester:

To be honest with you, ready2cmyKing, I'm not sure why you seem to want to take it upon yourself to douse a person's belief. I have never questioned your belief (just how you act upon it). I, and others who believe in Santa Claus, do not bother you. We do not believe Santa is a god, so it does not violate your belief.

Perhaps it gives you a certain amount of joy to cause disappointment. Maybe you also like pulling wings off flies.

Does a person's pleasure really bother you that much?

I have been a member for a long time here and missed the first poll so I find it interesting that when asked do you believe in a REAL LIFE - not the spirit of giving Santa. I wish he would do my shopping! It is ok if people ask questions like this though because from my readings Cliff asked the first question and it seems like Ready is asking do you believe in a human being walking around at the North Pole making toys???

Yeah if you read it in the "literal format".... I did not take it as her saying you are an idiot kid if you do believe. I see the question asking do you believe that there is a man at the North Pole making toys and placing them under tress now. Not the spirit of giving and things like that.

 

Well, I don't actually pull their wings off, but as much of a problem as our area has with flies, I DO rather enjoy stunning them with the swatter and then watching our pet turtle swallow them with one gulp. Heck, who needs to BUY turtle food.
