Actually aren't they trying to answer some of her questions with actual Bible verses and discussions?

Israel is often referred to as a fig tree. The prophesy of the fig tree is often associated with the State of Israel in 1948. If that generation will not pass away, that implies a divine intervention and we are 60 years on the other side of that date. There are other possible indicators, but none that I can go into in a short period of time and I'll be signing off to go out of town after this post. I will look into others later if the circumstances permit.

Agree about some have the wrong intentions here and are called "Christians on Sundays" however, I do think it is ok to spread God's word everywhere because it is said to Go and make disciples across the nations to everyone so that can mean in any means as in the internet. Although going about it the wrong way is wrong! I just truly want to read Tams message as wanting to know more as in being educated about God and the end of times.... I do not know when he is coming but I also try to not assume she/he was asking for the wrong reasons and think others should look at the best intentions of one another first.. (not saying you) lol

Really? I don't recall her asking anything, but making a statement. Before she edited her initial post, it said:
Don't pretend you don't know it has anything to do with Obama.

Kind of hard to ignore when every other thread these days is about all this...I mean if I started posting 2 or 3 threads (not responses, but threads) having to do with my faith every day (which is a Christain faith, but with different beliefs from yours) I will bet money that all of you folks who are so vocal with your Christian beliefs would not just "ignore it".

Then how do you explain Matthew 23:36 where Jesus said, "Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation."? Do you think He wasn't talking about the generation he was living in or was He talking about the generation of the 21st century? And how about Matthew 24:34 where Jesus said, "Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled." Once again, was Jesus talking about the generation He was living in or some Generation two thousand years after His time on Earth?

Even an elementary, basic study of the New Testament will show that the Christians after Jesus' death thought he would return before their death.

So Clif is right....that prophecy didn't quite work out.

Well I read somewhere once where people during the late 17 and 1800's thought Napoleon was the anti-christ, then during WWII they thought Hitler was. I forgetting many others throughout history who were mistakenly identified as such.

Very true. The end of times and the signs of the end of times have been reported since before the Bible was even finished.

And for those, there is this quote from Jesus...

"An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it"

Along with what Cliff said about being no sign..

Per God are we also not supposed to anticipate this time or "guess" when it is going to be.

I agree with that... To answer truthfully and with Bible verses... I do not agree with the message posted by Tams but I thought she could post it to learn more about the truth is what I am saying. I am the FIRST to say we do not know when it will happen and we are not suppose to try and set a "date" or anything like that. However I said if her post makes someone read up on this then that is a good thing.

Are you talking to me about not pretending it has anything to do with Obama??? If so I have no clue what you mean because I know this thread had to do with Obama and the End of times. I do not like him but I do not think that if he is elected then the world will end the next day at all. I have no clue when it will happen as I have said over and over again that hopefully she is learning more about the scripture part. Maybe I should not say she is asking with a true question but I took it as wanting to get thoughts on this subject and truth to discredit or back it up.

    I was referring to this:
I didn't read any such openness into her post, but we will just have to agree to disagree on that point.

ETA: If the purpose was to get thoughts and truth to discredit or back it up, then why attack everyone who seems to question the original post?

I haven't read this whole thread, I'm only on page 2, but already Dr. Adrian Rogers came to mind, because he does such an excellent job with teaching the book of Revelation. Here is one of his sermons about the Antichrist called The Biography of the Beast

    http://www.lightsource.com/Ministry/love_worth_finding/20080427/

Keep in mind that Dr. Rogers went home to be with the Lord nearly 3 years ago so this sermon is at least 3 years old. How much further we have come towards the end than when he preached this!

Yes they are. I never said I agreed with the post. I just put it out there for discussion and boy did it ever get it.

thank you to all of you who have responded with bible verses. This post has truly got some kind of truth and word out!

That is not true. I have not replied to one post (except for this one) where I was negative in any manner to ANY of the replies.

If people disagree with me, then fine, that it their opinion. I never stated otherwise. As far as my credibility, I have no worries with that one.

Have a great & blessed day!

How can you rely on the words of someone who obviously does not know the facts?

The word Antichrist is mentioned all of four times in the Bible, none of which are in the Book of Revelation. In all four places, John (the Apostle, not the one who wrote the Book of Revelation) an "Antichrist" is described simply as someone who denies the devinity of Jesus Christ, not some spawn of Satan ala the movie "The Omen". If your "Dr." Rogers can't get that simple fact right, how accurate can the rest of his teachings be?
