No they were examples of partners/helpers. They were also an example of "mother and father" but it takes a man and a woman to be that too.

    Genesis 2 : 20

But for Adam no suitable helper was found. 21 So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs [j] and closed up the place with flesh. 22 Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib [k] he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.

    23 The man said,
"This is now bone of my bones
    and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called 'woman, [l] '
for she was taken out of man."

24 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.

    Dear Lord...

You know what, I'm not going to waste my time on someone who seems to think he knows more than Jesus Christ.

Santa Claus, Clif, Santa Claus. ;);)

Oh well, if you want to think that way then it is your business. I choose to believe the Holy Bible as written and I choose to believe that God made a man and a woman for the reasons stated earlier.
How do you "translate" or understand Leviticus 20 : 13 then? Or during translation did we misunderstand that too?

13 " 'If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

In a nutshell, here is why I don't think being homosexual is "normal". Biology folks.................. biology. Parts are supposed to go with other parts. You can argue til the cows come home, and yes there are animals that are homosexual on occasion as well. But as a rule, male and female exist for a reason. Procreation generally doesn't happen without it.

Well, except in a few instances, I think there was a story about a shark cloning itself this week.

Now, do I think they ought to be stoned? Of course not. I love my uncle, he's a very kind and talented individual and that is true regardless of his orientation. Do I beleive he's going to hell? I don't know, that's between him and God. I sure hope not for his sake.

Going to get my flame suit again...................................:p

Agree 100%! I am not going to stone or hate anyone because of a choice. That is between God and that person. I have another Cousin that is gay and he has made a lot of dumb choices in his life. However, I just have to pray for him but no matter what he has to answer for his own mistakes in life (not just the gay part) and I am too busy trying to answer for my own wrong doings and tryong to do better daily.

It's much easier to do that when you start doubting your own beliefs, isn't it?

You believe what you want and I'll believe what I want and when all is said and done, we'll see who was right. Oh, if I were you I'd pack some shorts and tank tops in the coffin. It's going to get pretty hot where you're headed.

I find it ironic that you go after Clif's mythology while flaunting yours so blatently.

You're calling God/Jesus/Holy Spirit a myth, Hugh?

Your beliefs s are as credible as Clif's to me

That makes me very sad, Hugh.

Still, I'm sure that more grown people believe in my God than in Santa Claus.

I don't doubt that, but what gives you the right to pick on Clif's beliefs?

Because it's the "Christian" thing to do, of course.

Is that the deal? I can tell you that you have trashed Christian values based on your obnoxious posts condemning anyone who doesn't follow your narrow definition of what is right, so you get to tell me there's no Santa Claus?

    Cool!

I'm sorry Clif, and I promise I will never bring up your belief in Santa Claus again. Forgive me? [IMG]

Seriously Ready, I'm prob Clif's least biggest fan, but repeatedly bringing up the Santa Claus thing is immature at best. I mean there is plenty of opportunity to make fun of your beliefs because they are different from mine and other people's on the board but it doesn't happen because people can at least be adult and respectful. Mocking is not cool no matter what....even if it is Clif.

Clif, that was just downright nasty and uncalled for. Did she strike a nerve with you?

First of all, it's Clif. Second of all, she has been mocking him for ages about the Santa Claus thing so it's not like it couldn't have struck a nerve. Two wrongs don't make a right so both sides just need to :chillpill:.

And she is just as entitled to HER opinion as you are Clif. You seem to have this narcissistic idea that YOUR opinion is the only one that counts.

You got a link to back that up?

    NO, you don't.

You don't seem to know what the words meant in the original language so why do you question her OPINION about it? Because you are grasping at straws, that's why.

Your whole arguement on this is a joke and you know it! But you go on and believe in what you want to. Seriously, you MUST be terribly bored today.

Excuse me, but since you've been a registered user only since April, you do not know what you're saying. I have not been mocking Clif about Santa "for ages"... his belief was brought up nearly 3 years ago and not brought back up until last week. I've told Clif I won't bring it up again and I won't, but unless you want to read every one of my posts and prove that I've been mocking him for ages you need to zip it.
